bucks now have a 77.5m hard cap for 1 year, per the rules DruceMajic you should be notified too, if this isn't handled i'm returning the bucks to league control and revoking the bucks blazers trade

How can you go back and revoke the trade? It’s been processed and sims have been run?
The bucks were over the hard cap no matter what, the trade changes nothing and there’s no reasonable way for them to get under without an amnesty. He inherited this team.
I would be irate if that happened and it screwed me over.
It’s pretty simple, he just amnesties the Harvey deal given how horrendous it is.

Lol team was $10m over the hard cap when I took over due to offers made by the commish. I’m all set, just forget I said I would come back, I don’t have interest.

Lol team was $10m over the hard cap when I took over due to offers made by the commish. I understand Majic's disappointment in having the trade revoked (who wouldn't be mad?) but having a GM come back for 24ish hours, make a significant trade with you, then doing nothing else sets a bad precedent and is bad for the league IMO.
I don't think anyone would be too happy if Breauxcaine "came back", took the Raptors, traded me Courtney Alexander and Steph Templeton, and then quit.

this has to the be either the biggest troll job by eric or the biggest over-step by a commish in my entire sim league time.
Lets just state out some facts.
Eric allowed for a previous GM to accept a terrible resign.
Eric then submitted bids for that team once the GM quit.
Eric then submitted bids that created a situation where the Bucks were sitting at 90 million of cap.
This was all done by eric, the commishioner.
Druce then agrees to take over the team knowing the situation. Druce is an original GM and a former commish, he knows what hes doing.
Druce the agrees to our trade, that in no way affects the cap situation knowing that he can use an amnesty and easily be under.
The trade goes through without anyone having a problem or even eric making a statement on it.
eric then never makes a single mention at that time that if the cap is not sorted out for the Bucks both the Bucks and Blazers would be affected.
Eric then goes through the rest of the offseason and even goes through 2 sims before even making me aware.
How can any of this be justified? How can the trade be revoked? when has that ever been something that was allowed?
This is complete and utter bullshit on so many levels and a huge overstep by the commish.
Eric assuming that Druce could easily and simply trade away major contracts to get under the hard cap is absurd too.
I cannot state how angry I am over this. nor can I understand how any other GM would stand for this if they were in my position.

If Druce can type: "Amnesty Donnell Harvey -50,000 TimPig" This situation is avoided. That's essentially five words. The fact he didn't when being over the hard cap for 3-4 days in violation of the rules, when he was notified immediately that he was over the hard cap, shows he didn't have much interest in sticking around or trying. Trading a player that numerous people have been interested in for seasons to a good friend doesn't smell very honest from my perspective. Eric also tagged both you and Druce approximately 24 hours prior to adjudication and neither of you responded. Granted, it's the weekend, but the schedule has been consistent and he's abided by it very closely.

I am not arguing the firing of Druce as a gm. But the trade stands on its own. put the trade to a vote, although now everyone has the hindsight of 2 sims to see their stats.

People didn't commented on it because not everyone knew about the Bucks cap situation. I'd argue it shouldn't have been allowed to be processed, but since there is no "written rule" against making trades while already over the hard cap it went through because that's apparently how eric likes to interpret rules. I'd say reverting trades makes less sense than never allowing it to go through in the first place but that's just me.

I have never seen a trade revoked after multiple sims.
Is this even stated in the rules or is eric figuring this out on the fly?

I think the reason he didn’t initially mention the trade getting revoked is because he didn’t expect Druce to GM in this way (i.e. not at all).
When it became clear Druce wasn’t going to actually do anything, he gave 24 more hours for the situation to be resolved and Druce to prove him wrong and tagged you saying the trade could be revoked which incited no reaction.

He's a letter of the law guy that allows 0 flexibility with anything that isn't written in the 5.0 forum consolidated rules post but then has no issue making up a brand new rule on the fly.

To essentially accuse me of coming back just to make this trade with majic then leave is bullshit. There are a number of issues here. First the Harvey contract, which wasn’t signed by me. Why I wouldn’t get the same courtesy as a new gm just because I happen to have a dump buck account that I’ve built over a long period is dumb. Second, the Bucks signed $13 mil worth of contracts over the offseason putting them well over the cap, and none of those contracts was offered by me. Why was this allowed? Third, I was off work doing a bunch of shit on Friday and didn’t get one text about salary cap issues. The only reason this is even a “problem” is because I’m a former member, anyone else who was new this would be treated entirely differently. I oddly didn’t see a “bucks are over the hard cap” thread after the commish himself made fa offers that took them over.
I wanted to join back to full bored time at work, not deal with dramatic bs. I’ve barely even been home since Friday morning, I can tell you the league and particularly my teams cap situation weren’t close to the front of my mind. If the cap thing was such a big deal I’m not sure why I wasn’t texted.

Eric signings FA taking the Bucks over the hardcap should have given them a mulligan on an amnesty fwiw.
However that's not a written rule so eric probably wasn't about to allow that. But there are also no written rules on what exactly happens when the commish ran league controlled team goes over the HC so there's that.

The solution is pretty simple, give me a weekday to solve the cap problem and then if I don’t impose whatever penalty you want. That is a lot more reasonable than what has happened here.

First off, had I made a ruling similar to yours I would have communicated that right from the start. Posting in the thread as well as a Personal message saying “hey if the cap situation doesn’t get corrected then I will not veto this trade.” Mans then I would have also sent texts to individuals when it was clear neither were actually being active on the board over the weekend. In terms of the situation as a whole, I would have judged it in 2 ways. First whether the deal was a fair deal for both parties, and the. I would have ruled on the GM/cap issues. no one had a problem with the deal when it happened, and given the fact he was a sought after player this means a lot. so I would have ruled that the deal stand as a commish should never step in and dictate value unless the league says so. thenwhen it came to the cap/activity level I would have been far more pro-active in trying to talk with Druce. at the end of the day we are dealing with a dying league. Running off/pissing off GMs is the last thing I would want to do.

If the cap thing was such a big deal I’m not sure why I wasn’t texted. no one's being accused of anything. if you're talking about the free amnesty, you had the choice of starting as a new gm with a 10k bank (plus whatever the compubucks had accrued) and a free amnesty, or not as a new gm with your own bank and no free amnesty. the offers were made so the bucks could trade them for dump bucks, setting them up to be in better position for the next GM. there was no bucks are over the HC thread when the signings were made because that rule isn't in effect in the offseason. anyone new would absolutely have had that trade vetoed in the first place. i don't see why there has to be any drama about this. you knew you were over the HC when you joined, you were notified and could have amnestied Harvey at any point in the next 48 hours and been fine, because that would have taken you under even the first level of penalty. you chose to quit, which is fine, it's your life, nobody's mad at you. as the commish i have to salvage the situation somehow, so i can let the bucks suffer HC penalties indefinitely or reverse the trade so i can easily get them under the cap. i'm not happy with the latter solution, but i didn't and still don't see anything better.
