Is the Timpig-Fecta feud made up so they can pass collusiony trades with less suspicion?
druce
Yes, 100%. I've never believed this feud, or the tim/eric feud. I think we can draw the conclusion that tim is a lying, manipulative rat who needs a gun with a raquet ball on the end to please his gf.'
jhb
No I think it's mostly due to fecta's unlikeability and jealousy about Tim's likeability.
eric
it's made up because timpig is frequently bored at work. they only colluded on the lonzo trade, it was a one-off.
heebs
I think so. That is the only thing that makes sense. But now that we've got the trade committee, I'm not sure it matters. Hell, even Ankly hasn't made any weasel trades since the committee was formed.
billy
of course it is
majic
Oh you wanted a real answer here. Its 100% fake. Fecta just asked Tim to be his best man, I highly doubt they are feudingabout anything. In all honesty, Tims little heel turn where he was "fighting" with multiple GMs about nothing was strange.
Of the new GMs to 5.0, who do you like the most? Who do you dislike the most?
druce
I like Mike the most because he is a Barca fan. I don't dislike anyone.
jhb
I like Mike. He appears to have a sense of humor and seems to be around a lot. I can't remember who else is new? Brocaine? I want to like him but we have a bad history of friends of Tim in this league.
eric
Mike is a real solid addition. Good shout presence. Seems to know a lot about sim leagues in general. No articles yet though.
heebs
Mike is definitely the new GM that stands out as a great addition. I'm not sure I could name another new GM. So I guess Mike is also the GM I dislike the most. Suck it, Mike!
billy
skrouse is my favorite new gm, but I'm sure he'll figure it out soon.
majic
Mike is the first real new GM we have had in a long time. Seems like a solid addition as he has used the software before. I am curious to learn more about his previous league though.
Not really anyone I dislike per say. BK you can be a bit annoying but I think you mean well.
Who is the one GM you are glad didn't return?
druce
Truthfully I don't remember who didn't return.
jhb
Bankz. He's obnoxious.
eric
nobody comes to mind
heebs
Honestly, I wish they'd all have come back. Even Bankz. If I had to pick one, I'd go with Ocho. He seems to be killing it professionally, so I'm glad he's not back. Because if he had time to do this, it'd likely be because he was out of work.
billy
I'm going to pretend I asked "which GM do you wish didn't return" and say Ian
majic
This is a hard question, but I really think that SPL needed a little break from the league. I want to state unequivocally that I like the guy, just as a GM he needed to get away for a bit.
What would your teams intro song be?

Do you like Odin as commish?
druce
Yes, Odin has always been open to new ideas and not set in ways. I like the randomness of the sims also, keeps things fresh.
jhb
Sometimes. There's aspects I like and some I liked better on former commishes but overall he's very good. I like how creative he is and all the features he adds to the game. I miss the rigid schedule of 20's in his prime as commish where I could come in to work and spend the first hour of my day checking sim league stuff because there was a new sim up.
eric
Yes. Doing a heckuva job.
heebs
Odin is great because he innovates in sim league. Dump bucks were him. G League is him. He's constantly thinking of ways to make sim league better and he generally succeeds. I'm not a big fan of the crap shoot that is the draft, but as long as I can stash busts in G league I don't think it matters that much.
billy
Yeah, I think Odin is great. It's nice to butt heads with a fellow klingon
majic
Yes, I think odin has been great for the startup of a new league and theres no way we are here right now without him. I wouldnt mind a little more regularity overall, but given that we have a league and is rolling along smoothly enough.

If you could have one roster in the league, contracts, picks, and all, whose would it be?
druce
Mine, because I built/drafted it. I don't want anyone else's success.
jhb
Los Angeles Clippers obviously
eric
Knicks. Clips are the only other championship caliber option, and that Jon Pierce deal is looking a little problematic.
heebs
Clippers. Easy. Next question.
billy
Probably the Clippers, due to getting some rings. However the Rockets and Kings are nice squads. I wouldn't mind having the Timberwolves either, but I'd maybe try to get a ransom for Sexton.
majic
Clipper - that Pierce contract looks rough at the end, but theres 3-4 more years at a legit title shot. Worth it.
Which team would you rather have: Kings or Hornets?
druce
I would rather have the Kings, good foundation to build on there, quality team, plus I like things that are good rather than bad.
jhb
Kings obviously. So much more now and future talent. NOt even close.
eric
Hornets. I don't love any big deal on either roster and they have max room sooner.
heebs
Kings. Top to bottom their roster is better. They don't have picks, but picks are so untrustworthy that they're better off with Halpert. They have some bad salaries, but it wouldn't take much to get rid of them.
billy
Hornets, clearly. The addition of lottery talent to his roster has made such a difference thus far, I just can't compete with the speed he is able to make his roster better.
majic
Depends on what we are discussing. There is no doubt that the Kings roster overall is better right now, but I dont see a clear path to getting better. The kings are capped out and have little to no resources to get better. The Hornets at least have some younger guys along with assets and I like RJ Barret more than most. As I have said, given the state of the league I dont see either winning a title in the next 3-4 years, so I would rather have the Hornets assets and ability to build a team long term.
What is the worst move you've made so far?
druce
I haven't made many moves, so I guess some of my draft picks could have been better. I like my drafted starting 5, after that, some of them were pretty bad.
jhb
Not making cap space instead of taking it and assuming Delle Donne would take the higher 2 year deal instead of the longer 6-year deal because I was being greedy and trying to retain Roy Devyn White as well by being able to make MLE/LLE offers on Day 1 in FA
eric
Tie between the Sandor Clegane creation draft pick and the Devon Hall signing. In both cases there was an unknown unknown (Devon going -1 Handling in TC, Sandor being crap) but still. I'd like to have those back.
heebs
Khalid Reeves for 5 late firsts. If I knew then what I know now, I'd have had a legit dynasty in 4.0. The roster is gone, but all I had Reeves long term, Catfish, Dwight Howard, a rookie contract SG that wound up being a very good starter, and all my picks. I also wish I'd listened to Odin, who told me to tank with Reeves. Oh well.
billy
2 1sts for carl fucking braun
majic
drafting Jon Elmore over Brain Winter. looked hard at both of them in the second round but got scared about the possibility of having to resign both Moore and Brain in the first offseason.
Who is the most over rated play in sim league?
druce
Zion Williamson. He's got good stats, but his turnovers and shooting % are lacking. Don't think he'd fit in the couv.
jhb
Catfish. With the amount of prolific scoring bigs in the league I think way overvaluing a guy who is defense/rebounding only and provides nothing on offense is foolish.
eric
I think all GMs over rate their own players, so it really changes depending on who's talking. I don't think Chalky Studebaker is generally rated highly, but look at his contract and the trade made for him, you know what I mean? Who's asking the questions now, huh? I just flipped the script on you, Bill.
heebs
*shuffles rosters to see who is the next expiring Pacer* Probably Daniel Taurasi. Turns the ball over too much. Isn't top tier efficiency. He is good, but not a top SG in the league.
billy
Colin Sexton. The turnovers are bad and he just keeps getting worse.
majic
I dont know if there is anyone in the league thats particularly over-rated as we have a good grasp of whats important for success. I do think there are players that are over-paid or locked into massive contracts that are concerning, mainly bigs. Pierce, Mikan, Shabazz are all making max level money and it will be interesting to see how those contracts age. We could see a shift in the league as the block numbers rise a bit that could make these tough deals.
