How it Works
Timberwolves have no soft cap space. Bulls have $13m in cap space. Timberwolves trade two firsts (or whatever) to Bulls for the use of their bids. Timberwolves send two sets of bids to the commissioner, one for Timberwolves and one for Bulls. If Bulls sign anyone in the software, those players are moved to Timberwolves. If not, Bulls keep whatever they were traded.
What's the Point?
In addition to not having to worry about matching contracts, the Timberwolves in this scenario would be able to simultaneously bid on max players and MLE/min players. Or the Bulls could trade for the Timberwolves' bids and do the same, or a team that already had max room could trade for the Bulls' bids and have two chances at max players instead of just one.

could even implement that actually, the pick trading team gets either any fa signed with that space, or that space as a trade exception to use in the future

this is a bit like the trade exceptions i proposed a while back yes, now that you mention it, functionally it's the same thing. i think this approach to it will be easier to keep track of and do in the software though.

I’ll vote yes on anything that could increase trades.

key part will be tracking this and keeping it updated.
if odin doesnt think this would cause a ton of problems then think it could be a benefit

Big no for me, this bypasses the salary cap rules in place intended for fairness and parity. Not a fan at all

Not a fan, seriously. A really good capped team could operate as if they had 80 million in soft cap.

Yeah, esentially makes cap space a tradable commodity without moving players. And I'm not a fan

key part will be tracking this and keeping it updated. if odin doesnt think this would cause a ton of problems then think it could be a benefit why i think this will be easier to track than trade exceptions is it's all or nothing. if team a makes a trade like this, they send in bids for team a and team b. simple. it would be very easy to add to the Owed Picks thread, would look something like: Bulls 1st to WarriorsBulls FA bids to TimberwolvesCavaliers 2nd to Knicks(obviously i would never take on a cap killing second round pick, but you get the idea) Not a fan, seriously. A really good capped team could operate as if they had 80 million in soft cap. yes but only if they can convince another team or teams to trade it to them, they would still have to abide by the hard cap, and it's a gamble anyway because they could just as easily strike out in FA and have sent out X resources for nothing.

Haha, I'm fairly progressive tho so i am open to discussions or possible limitations to a rule like this. But I am against the current proposal as it has been laid out
