Came up in the KG fam chat, and I thought it would be fun. Here are my thoughts:
The roles we need are Marty, Doc, Lorraine, and George. Biff is also important but those are the big four.
Marty
He's listed as 17 but Michael J. Fox was 24 when the movie came out, and Hollywood has never had a problem putting adults in teen roles. We need charisma, comic timing, can believably express heartfelt loss at their mentor's demise, and most importantly the ability to pull off a ridiculous jacket.
John Boyega is 24 too, he checks all the boxes! THERE'S OUR MARTY!
.
.
Doc
Doc! Doc! He's supposed to be anywhere from his mid 30s to his early 40s in 1955, and Christopher Lloyd was 47 so we've got a lot of wiggle room. We need intelligence, manic energy, a little unsettling, reaction gifs.
GET ME TOM HIDDLESTONE! and a barber! Say goodbye to those glossy black locks friendo, it's bleach time. He's only 37 but BTTF is all about aging up makeup, it'll be fine.
.
.
Lorraine
Lea Thompson was astonishingly also 24 on release, and female roles are a lot less forgiving age wise. Thanks a lot, Steve Hollywood. Again we need a lot of comic timing, someone who can convincingly play a damsel in distress (sorry Gal Gadot you're out), and someone who can rock old timey outfits as an innocent naif and while flexing a little sex appeal.
The Terminator went back in time, time for the ARIANATORS TO DO THE SAME! (These pictures are from Hairspray! a musical that takes place in the fifties.) (Arianators are Ariana Grande fans.) (Look, I'm not on trial here.) She's 25 which is about as close as we're gonna get, but Emma Watson at 28 is another strong choice.
.
.
George
Crispin Glover was incredibly only 21 on release, making him younger than his in-universe son. This time travel crap, just fries your brain like a egg. Anyway he's also supposed to be a teen in 1955 and I'm gonna be honest I don't have a great answer for him right now. But we want someone who can portray extremely vulnerable, even pathetic, but also someone who we can believe in as someone who's got it all figured out later on. So, give me vulnerable and oppressed!
Great, love it. Give me style and sophistication!
YOU'RE HIRED! And while Michael B. Jordan is 31 which is kind of a big stretch maybe we can rewrite it so Marty's parents are in college. Frankly 31 as 21 is more plausible to me than 24 as 17 anyway.

So that's it! What are your thoughts? Screw it just go watch the movie again yourself, you won't regret it.
