even i can recognize when something isnt going to work and that something is rookie fa. could it theoretically work if we had massive changes to most systems in sim? possibly but i'm not even sure of that anymore.
so what do we do about it? read the title.
there's no reason we MUST exhaust all draft classes before restarting. hell, we've done it twice before.
my proposition is that we say fuck it, be bigger men than trump, and take the L. we can power through the last few dozen profiles we need before the transition and eric can get started on the draft class. 1-2 more seasons of 5.0 then move on from this disaster. rookie fa doesn't work. period. full stop

Why can't we just play it out as scheduled? I also feel like starting 6.0 in the middle of the holidays is a bad plan, iirc a lot of GMs are less active than they would normally be. |

there's no way to say whether rookie fa will or won't work without defining what "work" means

well i typed out a long response but proboards said i wasnt logged in and erased it.
but here are the major points:
1. like ive said before, theres no reason to be so slow with changes as there is little risk so close to the end of the league
2. ive laid out many good ideas for those changes in a recent article
3. if there arent sufficient changes listed in the offseason's rule update i will be taking a break until 6.0. i said many times before rookie fa we needed more changes to support it and i am not shocked its going like it is without those and have no interest in arguing for the next 5 months about how fucking stupid it is to be excrutiatingly slow about this.
