I completely agree
They’d be in the minors if they were drafted in the third round by someone why shouldn’t we be able to fill out the minor league rosters with them
It gives us more data on the players in our league for the future and it makes it more likely we get all human playoffs
It’s literally a no-lose proposition, being opposed to this means you are a stupid, dumb idiot

And the players on these deals are likely to be signed post-FA so they wouldn’t be extension eligible so it’s not like this is an avenue for good teams to find hidden gems. If anything it’s a methodology to help us collectively and more efficiently mine the currently unused young talent in the league that nothing is happening with.

i wish people who vote no in these things would at least explain their vote I believe we have access to enough players and can stash enough already. This won't eliminate the bots, not everyone will fill up their minor league teams so they will remain. If eric likes it and thinks it's a good idea cool, have fun. But I'm not gonna push for this change. |

Think this is a good idea. More chances for younger guys to play and like mentioned above, they will only be 1 year deals so if one of them pops then the previous team won’t have an advantage to sign them.

since it just came up in shout and is relevant
the more expirings that are on minor league affiliates the longer it takes to process resignings
and it's not linear either, if everyone has 1 expiring then most people have room on their major league roster for them, but if everyone has 5 then on top of moving minors to majors i have to pick non-expiring majors and move them down for resigning, then move them back for the final upload

We have the ability to do that now though and it’s fairly limited to 1 extension per year. this rule change would give more players a shot and since every team can only extend 1 player per year its likely most of these types of guys hit FA for everyone to bid on. |
