Maledon excels on the defensive end of the court, where he likes to press his opponents at full court and disturb them. He is very good chasing his opponents around screens. Theo has really active hands on defense, which helps him make a lot of steals and deflections. Good defender in PnR situations, knows how to set his feet. Good as a help defender and trapper, always willing to cover his teammates when they are forced to rotate. He is not a natural scorer, but he should be a very low TO point guard as he usually is content with taking what the defense gives him. He is not one to force the issue through out-of-control drives or risky passes. He's a solid athlete, faster than he is strong, and has an excellent frame/length for adding weight and strength in the future without sacrificing that speed. He's OK from the foul line, but he is very limited from range for a guard. His 3pt shot must improve.
