An older prospect, despite only one year of college, Achiuwa is very intriguing. Athletically he is pretty explosive, capable of beating 4s off the bounce in the high post, and the thing that stands out about him is the fact he plays with live wire energy. Pretty quick and twitchy at the 4 spot, with a good 2nd jump that helps him tremendously as a shot blocker and offensive rebounder; the areas where, no surprise, he makes his biggest impact. He may be the most talented pure rebounder in the class, as he is absolutely dominant on the offensive glass and very solid on the defensive glass... combining for roughly 12 boards/36 last year at Memphis. He is an above-average defender, but that is buoyed by counting stats (which he has!) and not play by play excellence (where he is a little sloppy and foul-prone). Offensively he needs a good bit of work, especially from the FT line, where he currently shoots sub 60%. He is a below average ball-handler as well... but that isn't something he is often asked to do and should not asked to do at the next level.
