First episode of the 3 Best Friends Pod, a shameless and unabashed attempt to get some pig pennies. This cash grab features users myself, andrewluck, and Logan, who have all been irl friends for 15 years. We cover how we know each other and a bit of our personal background before getting into my experience with the league so far and how some of the finer points of player development work. Later, Odin and Mr. Luck breakdown the 2042 FA market and why you can't trust anyone's opinions about it. Join us for these riveting topics and more here on the inaugural 3 Best Friends Pod. soundcloud.com/3bfp/3bfp-episode-1

TimPig We discussed why Troy chose to put his organization in your city. His response might surprise you. Yeah, as I recall, he said he hadn't even checked what teams were already in the league and just looked up defunct franchises? andrewluck do you remember this trade?

Yeah, as I recall, he said he hadn't even checked what teams were already in the league and just looked up defunct franchises? andrewluck do you remember this trade? is that the qyntel woods pick? Probably my biggest 5.0 regret. If I had taken the contract for 1.27 onto my books, I wouldn’t have had max space. I also had 2.1 that draft and was hoping Woods would fall another 3 picks so I could still get him.

imagine rolling the dice. could be 4. could be 9. could be go f*** yourself. if you roll them 1000 times you can get a nice distribution that shows you get 7s a lot more often than 2s or 12s. if you roll them 1 time, you could get any value and how would you know what the most common was? enter fracs, short for fractional title odds. it uses each team's Simple Rating (which is the margin of victory corrected for strength of schedule) to see how likely each team is to win a given game against another, then algebra to see how likely each team is to win a seven game series against another, then does that for all possible matchups in the playoffs to see what everyone's chance is to win the title. we only run the playoffs once, fracs gives us an idea how likely the one outcome we get was
i believe what odin is thinking of for reducing blocks is height, a taller player with the same attributes will block less shots which obviously makes no sense, but improved height is still a net gain for winning
enjoyed the pod
