The biggest problem with football is the inability to to play a 3 game series to see who is best. So here's my solution. Let me preface all this by saying roster size would basically be doubled. I think we all want the best playing the best and not The Citadel, so let's divide the FBS into an upper and lower division...with promotion/relegation. Just for fun let's say we take the top 72 teams. #ohwow can you believe there were exactly 72 teams with winning records last year? That's super convenient for this exercise. I think we all prefer when conferences matter and watching group drawings is pretty fun so let's do that. 8 groups of 9. here's an example. wow, doesn't that look fun? i know right! so naturally the best way to approach this is to play two games against each other team in your division before starting a best of 3 playoffs. the schedule would look a bit like this. i'm sure you're thinking "wow, that's a lot of games" and you aren't wrong. but that's why there's so many bye weeks and roster size was increased so much. so that's basically it. worst team from each division gets relegated and...well, idk how who gets called up is determined. how about a poll? someone else can figure that out.

What if you play TWICE as many games but the games are HALF as long?!
Two twenty-minute halves. Who says no?
