In regards to the draft profiles... i think there is some misinterpration of stats on some of the players. Deron williams shooting 42% in college is GOOD. in the same way him shooting 42% in the pros at 20 ppg is GOOD for guards with that kind of volume in the era that he played. These type of things should be accounted for more by comparing the players with their peers instead of directly translating their stats to sim league.
Honestly, directly translating their stats from college to what we want them to do as a rookie wouldn't be so bad if we didn't pick and choose which one we were doing. Someone shoots 37% from 3pt in deron williams era in college is basically a sharpshooter by those days standards, but in sim league thats trash. *shrugs*. I don't mind either focusing on college production or NBA production but it would be cool if clear top 3 players IRL didn't end up being backup levels (not after TC but relegated to that forever by their starting grades) right from the get-go.This is a little different that what has been done in the past, and it's all a big hogwash and delap definitely does a great job with what he has been to work with, and i understand wanting to just use the draft profiles to keep it "objective".

Was it really that good? He had one season in the Big Ten top 20 in TS%, and he ranked 20th. That's in the Big Ten - not even the entirety of college basketball. He had one season in the Big Ten top 20 in offensive win shares when he had 1.7 and ranked 18th in the conference. Again, Big Ten, not NCAA. I will acknowledge that multiple times he finished on the Big Ten leaderboards for FG, FGA, 3P, 3PA, and Points, but he wasn't particularly efficient (as noted by the TS% above), and we don't have a great way to replicate that with current software limitations. We can't create that sort of high volume with that sort of low efficiency.

Solid pod fellas, really enjoyed the analysis of the Smits trade, which seemed to be live.
No hard feelings about the Oscar trade that could have been, Tim. Told you from the start, he'd end the season on the Magic or the Bulls.
42.5 K each, better than last episode imho

No hard feelings about the Oscar trade My feelings are quite hard. Solid pod fellas, really enjoyed the analysis of the Smits trade, which seemed to be live. It was live. In fact, we were on one topic, then going to switch, but then I put it off for a minute longer to await one more text from you to double confirm that you weren't going to trade me Oscar, and then we dove into the trade once that was established. You mentioned when I first inquired that one other team had made a meh offer for him, and then a day or two later BK said "My offer still stand Skrouse", so I put two and two together, and I absolutely couldn't have one of my favorite 5.0 sim players end up a Blackhawk. That would be a disgrace.

i gotta say it's nice for timpig to take a new gm under his wing and explain the sim league rules, good guy
.
for shown potential, draft players are assigned a literally random number
after every TC, shown potential is hidden potential / 2 + 25 ± 15
so if a player has 94 hidden potential after TC, their shown potential can be anywhere from 87 (A) to 57 (C) and going the other way, if a player has A shown potential after TC, their hidden potential can be anywhere from 100 to 81 because 81 / 2 + 25 + 15 = 81 and if they have B shown potential, it can be anywhere from 100 to 41 because 100 / 2 + 25 - 14 = 61 and 41 / 2 + 25 + 15 = 61
so for example Player A comes into the league with 100 hidden and D shown potential at age 18 they go through TC, 94 hidden A shown they go through another TC, 100 hidden B shown
Player B comes into the league with 75 hidden and A shown potential at age 18 they go through TC, 60 hidden and B shown potential they go through another TC, 50 hidden and B shown potential
