A brickhouse of a young man, with plenty of room to improve, Malone has gotten better each year in Ruston. A strong, commanding presence, Malone has overpowered the low-level competition in the Southland Conference and at local middle schools. He got his first taste of real competition in the NCAA tournament, where he performed admirably, leading LaTech on a run to the Sweet16. At the next level he is expected to be a consistent scorer, using his strength to attack the rack and run the floor like a runaway train. Scouts are particularly drawn to his improvement in taking care of the ball, reducing his TOs each season in college even while his usage rate increased. Despite seemingly shooting well in the flow of the game, his FT% doesn't show a great shooter, leading many scouts to think his mentality is fragile and that he may wilt under pressure.
