Q1: Okay, we’ll start out with an easy one. Given where we sit right now in the offseason, which team do you think is the favorite to win the championship, any other contenders?
Mike: Bulls, retire Lebron already
Druce: First of all, let me take a second and say what a pleasure and privilege it is to be here, and part of such an exclusive group. I think the clear favorite is the Bulls. The Globes have lost a few key pieces so I don't think they'll be really much of a threat. I like the Blazers to challenge the Bulls in the west along with the Blackhawks. The Mavs lost some pieces so I'm not sure how strong they'll be either. There was quite a talent shake up this offseason and the only team really coming out unscathed is the Bulls. The Hawks have reloaded, but I imagine they're a year or two out from contending again.
PointyEgg: I’d say the Bulls and the Blazers. Lebron has proven himself time and time again. It takes a lot of good cap managing to get a roster like that to support him as well. The Blazers have some scary depth in the front court. If the Blazers dont win it this year, it’ll come soon.
Timpig: I think the Bulls should be the favorite this season assuming that Oscar doesn’t regress massively in TC. Harlem will be a contender this year and I like them moving on from Juwan Howard and adding another offensively-capable player to the starting lineup in Bob Lanier. They lost some depth this offseason in Pistol Pete on the wing and Howard. They nabbed Dave Cowens on an MLE on Day 2 but I’m not big on him and that limits the ways they can pick up a backup wing. Ward always has something up his sleeve though so I expect he has something in the works. I think Dallas (losing Ellis) and Tri-Cities (losing Conley) both got substantially worse this offseason, so I don’t know who else is a contender this season.
Eric: i can't think for myself i'm a robit beep boop boop gotta wait for preseason odds beep-...
Skrouse: Chicago is the clear favorite and there isn't much of a challenge at the moment. After that it's a collection of good but LBJ not included. The Globes are good again, most of the core intact but lost Pete so that'll hurt. The Hornets look interesting with pieces they've assembled, I like Fecta's trio of bigs, Haywood, Davis and Zo, and they're still young. Maybe a tc or 2 away from being a true contender. Dallas is another one with a good core but I'm not certain it's enough to challenge Chicago. The only other 2 near this group are Miami and Detroit IMO.
Majic: Has to be the Bulls once again. As long as they have Lebron and a good supporting cast they are clear favorite every year. Globetrotters lost Howard but still return some top notch talent, and one would hope that you see an increase in the play from Lanier and Ingram. If my Blazers can sort out the SF position I like the overall depth and talent of my team. Blackhawks continue to have a ton of talent so you can never count them out.
Odin: I have no idea who is even on which rosters but probably the Bulls or Globes, maybe the Hawks
2. What’s the deal with decaf? How do they get the caffeine out of there, and where does it go?
Mike: Don't drink coffee, just vodka
Fecta: Coffee beans are washed in the solvent until the caffeine has been extracted into it, then the solvent is removed.
Druce: You know I've never been a coffee person, and beyond that I can't imagine a reason to drink it if you aren't doing it for the drug. It's like non-alcoholic beer, just never understood that either. For the second part of the question, I have no knowledge of the decaffeination process.
PointyEgg: Looks like we have ourselves a Seinfeld fan here. My guess would be that all the coffee companies have sweat-shops where little Eastern European kids suck all the caffeine out with special filter straws.
Timpig: This question made me look up how decaffeinated coffee is actually produced. Interesting stuff. Would recommend. But who would drink decaf anyway?
Eric: i have never drank coffee
Skrouse: Tastes awful but for some it's all they can have. I bought a small container of decaf about 2 years go, made it once. Has been collecting dust ever since. Should probably just throw it out.
Majic: I love coffee and drink multiple cups a day. No way I could ever do decaf.
Odin: I have no idea how it works or who it is supposed to appeal to.
3. Time to get into the weeds a bit. A lot is made out of “GM Rankings”. An easy question might be to just ask you who you think your best or worst GM’s are -- but those answers are easy. Anyone can say Ward is good, or that BK is bad. So we have a different question this time. We’ve now been doing 5.0 for more than 2 years -- Which GM do you think has changed the most in terms of GM abilities since the beginning of 5.0? Stated differently, do you think any GMs have gotten much better/worse than when they started this league?
Mike: Delap and Skrouse have improved and always remain in competition.
Druce: Honestly not really. Even dragging the timeline out to 4.0 I'm not really sure there is a ton of variation. I think Tim has invested a lot more time into the league than he did when he joined, same with JHB. This can go back all the way to when I started in 2.0. Once you understand the "game" a lot of it is about understanding negotiations and building relationships. Some people are able to do that, others are not as successful at it. Some I don't think ever really understand the sim and how to build a successful team, even with the most information thats ever been available in the history of TMBSL.
PointyEgg: I can’t say much about this one since I am fairly new but judging by the championships won, I’ll have to say the hawks. Jhb got a three-peat pretty recently so something must’ve changed from the beginning of 5.0 to now.
Timpig: This one is tough. I can’t think of someone I used to think was a terrible GM who proved me wrong or vice versa. I mostly still think the bad GMs are bad and the good GMs are good. Pointyegg has gotten a lot better in the way he thinks about things but that’s obviously going to happen with a new GM.
Eric: pointyegg didn't win a single game for decades. 2035, first win. 'strapolate that out and if those exponential trends continue... ayyyyyyyyyyyyy
Majic: Its hard to say who I think has gotten "better" since the league is so different from where we were even at the beginning of 5.0. Ward has been the biggest person to stand out to me in terms of his GM'ing ability. I know that he has been around for a long time and is one of the OG members but he has been outstanding in 5.0. The only other person I can think of is Fecta, this likely has more to do with his complete lack of skill to do anything since he had that insane run. His teams have been awful since that dynasty.
Odin: jhb was an average gm before, now he's above average. congrats, jhb.
4. In a similar vein, but on a slightly different level, which GM do you feel the most differently about, personally, since the beginning of 5.0?
Mike: Well, BK was fucking annoying at first but now I feel he's the wild card we need to keep this league entertaining and he's actually a nice guy.
Druce: Interesting question. Now that I get the BK schtick, I like you a lot more. That being said I'm not sure I could have liked you a whole lot less after my initial interactions with you. I will say that I wasn't surprised that Tim is a good guy in person, but at times I'm annoyed by his "Timpig" persona in the league. I generally think most members of the league would get along in person, and there are others who I find myself a bit annoyed by their online behavior. I tend to think Delap can be condescending at times, and skrouse maybe intentionally obtuse in some scenarios. Some people I just don't interact with much. I will say I hate being on the same side as Majic on any type of argument based almost solely on his inability to articulate a point in an understandable manner.
PointyEgg: Definitely Timpig. He’s always willing to answer any questions I have. I see that he gets heated in shout sometimes but he always seems to have logic at the center of his arguments. Solid guy
Timpig: Probably Skrouse. He only returned briefly towards the end of 4.0 so I didn’t know him very well when 5.0 started. His tenure towards the end of 4.0 wasn’t great, which wasn’t surprising considering he didn’t know all of the new ins and outs of the league that had been revealed through Eric’s research. As 5.0 began, I expected him to just kind of be another crappy GM and probably flame out. He’s stuck around though and I can proudly say that we hate each other equally and I look forward to continuing to update my tagline as I accumulate more and more titles than him.
Eric: between the start of 5.0 and now i met and wept unabashedly and marveled at the hand soap preferences of his significant other. a very close second to mamba248 who is kind of a jerk it turns out
Skrouse: That is quite easily TimPig. I used to think Tim was a cool dude, really down to earth and we even texted quite a bit early on in the dark ages when sims were MIA for days. But I really feel like something happened after eric took over and for some reason Tim turned into a total dick. Been trying to bury the hatchet with him for while over the whole double +1 inch to LBJ, alas it seems he just can't quite get past it.
Majic: The answer to this is probably Tim and there are 2 ways to look at it; Tim and Timpig. Timpig is the sim GM thats sort of turned into a bit of a "know it all" asshole. Tim is the guy I have met in person a couple times and has been an awesome guy. I have really enjoyed hanging out with Tim on a personal level, I have not enjoyed Timpig when he is in his full asshole mode. In fairness, Timpig can be extremely helpful and does alot for the league, so I appreciate it.
Odin: myself because who even am i anymore?
5. If you could bring any former GM back in their full glory, who would it be and why?
Mike: Dump, funny guy and competitive.
Fecta: Heebs, he was good for the league. Good GM and a good troll.
Druce: ZPZ from 2.0. He was one of my favorites then, him and I generally see things similarly. Outside of ward and maybe jhb or fecta I'm not sure how many here would know who he is though.
PointyEgg: I don’t think it’ll come to your surprise to hear me say Newguy. Gone but never forgotten
Probably IanBoyd of those I know. He’s an active GM and active in Shout and I feel like it’s usually sim league related. I prefer sim league discussions to all else.
Timpig: Probably IanBoyd of those I know. He’s an active GM and active in Shout and I feel like it’s usually sim league related. I prefer sim league discussions to all else.
Skrouse: I think 20s or maybe Ohaithur. Def. some OGs. Would like to bring someone that could attract others. I don't think people realize how good of a state the league is in at the moment. Maybe one day.
Majic: Ian - I actually enjoyed his shout presence and when he was active as a GM he had some good/interesting teams. I know he rubs some people the wrong way but I always had a good relationship with him.
KB Comments: This is such a tough answer! I think everyone has a long list of people they’d love to see come back and narrowing that down is impossible. Good to see Ian on the list multiple times. Note: nobody said 👼Saint Panktrick's Day👼
6. Which offense type (Pace, Press, Trap, Focus) do you think is best in 5.0 (no cop-out answers about team construction)? Do you feel this is different from 4.0? How so?
Mike: Wasn't here in 4.0, the one below is the most common around 5.0 even tho, I always had better results with a slow pace.
Fecta: I dont think its different at all. If you have a good team you want to push the pace and trap.
PointyEgg: Going off of the little knowledge I have here, I’ll have to say pace since everyone runs a fast-paced offense.
Timpig: Saying that answers about team construction are a cop-out is a cop-out. It 100% matters what kind of personnel you have. Smart GMs build their team around the type of player they have. If you get 1.1 in a Julius Erving draft, all of your future signings and draft picks should be made keeping that in mind, as well as your depth chart settings, at least from a “Focus” perspective. This is very different if you get 1.1 in a Kyrie Irving draft. For everything else, the data seems to show that Very Fast/Always/Never is the way to go. In 4.0 I don’t think “Inside” was ever a desirable option, so I guess that’s a big change
fast never always tbd.
Eric:the 4.0 answer was always veryfast never always outside because scoring bigs were giving up a literal point per possesh (possession). these days it's hard to tell what's outside (FOCUS???) from what's in my mind (with respect to vis-à-vis mine own actual team if you will)
Skrouse: I def will cop out somewhat and say it 100% depends on roster constructions. That said, I prefer a faster paced outside offense that rains 3s. A 3 is worth 50% more than a 2, which can add up quickly. Hard for me to relate back to 4.0, missed a lot of it and I wasn't up to speed on all of the tendencies.
Majic: Inside offense seems to be the easier way to build around. We have had an abundance of great bigs throughout 5.0 but have lacked the same number of high quality PG's and wings. Building around an inside offense gives a team more options for players and fit. Other than that, I will always be of the opinion that running fast, or very fast, is the best option. Ground and Pound slow pace sounds terrible and I dont think its every been successful.
Odin: i dont understand the question and wont respond it it
KB Comments: Maybe this was a poorly worded question, but I was interested in figuring out what everyone thinks the ideal settings for each DC setting would be. Obviously team construction is what would be ideal for a team… but what would the ideal construction be if you could build around the ideal DC settings? We will save this for another time.
7. What’s the deal with airline food?
Mike: Never got to fly, I'm poor.
Fecta: Its trash. I remember when I was younger I could get a fucking happy meal on a plane and now I gotta pay 5 bucks for some pringles.
Druce: Don't have much experience with airline cuisine.
PointyEgg: It’s nuts
Eric:
Skrouse:Ummmm, everyone eating it is high?
Odin: ive flown to/from one trip in my life and that was almost 20 years ago so i have no clue. but i can say that hotel food, and most food, is incredibly overpriced. also, cigarettes are $12/pack in washington
KB Comments: 5k of my winning to pointyegg for the joke of the RT. h/t to skrouse for trying his best.
8. How do you decide who to list as 3rd string on your DC?
Mike: Most of the time I use the 3rd string to check my expectations, if I have a promising guy or interesting back up I set him as 2nd and 3rd but if I need W's I'll just got with the starter.
Fecta: I just put the starter there.
Druce: I always set my starter as my 3rd string so they get the most minutes possible.
PointyEgg: I put young guys in 3rd string just to get them a little bit of playing time but was informed by jhb that I should just play my 1st stringers as my 3rd string
Timpig:I pretty much always go with the starter at that position as the third string option as well. Unless I’m trying to maximize someone’s minutes - i.e. LeBron - in which case I’ll make him a starter and then have him as the third stringer at any position that is legal.
Eric: i was a fan of alternating starters in their respective 3rd string slots, but i was also at least 29m over the soft cap every year so i had at most 12 players which limited the bear serkr software coach's malign influence; but then again, that hyoo mon would play a min bid power forward over the greatest backup point guard of all 4.0 time. of all 4.0 time!!!
Skrouse: Pretty much always my starters, gotta get them the minutes. If I have a weaker starter in a given position, an a solid back up, I will sometime put the back up as the 2nd and 3rd string. All about trying to allocate as many minutes as possible to the highest quality players.
Odin:i dont, rnjesus does
KB Comments: This question was me fishing for free advice. Nothing more.
9. What is your opinion on the last few draft classes? With the two previous classes being extremely weak -- will this one buck the trend?
Mike: extremely weak -- will this one buck the trend?
Fecta: I believe we gonna have a couple of real good guys then trash.
Druce: I think it will be a lot better than the last two, Beasley looks amazing. Truthfully I didn't pay a ton of attention to the ones before this class as I never really had picks. This class seemed pretty good so I'm happy about that. Generally speaking I think eric does a good job with prospect making and keeping things relatively even.
PointyEgg: They’ve been pretty weak from what I’ve seen. Im just happy to get a decent player out of one of the drafts. The profiles for this class look pretty solid. Im hoping it’s just as shitty as the last two since Im picking at the end. If Im not getting good players, nobody should.
Timpig: Two years ago was extremely weak. Last year has a lot more promise with guys like Buddy Hield, Brandon Ingram, Jaylen Brown, Fred VanVleet, and Pascal Siakam showing potential. The most recent draft shows tons of promise. Michael Beasley, Kevin Love, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, DeAndre Jordan, Brook Lopez, Roy Hibbert, and Eric Gordon all look promising to me.
Eric: every draft class is perfect :)
Skrouse: It definitely appears as though this class is quite strong, as a proud GM of 4 1st round picks, I hope that is the case. I think Beasley's build/grades really elevated the draft. And after seeing builds for Rose, Russ and Love I expect all 3 to be very good players. I am going to go out on a limb and say we get 3 HOFers from this class. Wouldn't say that about either of the last 2.
Majic: I hope so for the sake of the league. I have shared my thoughts over and over when it comes to draft classes so I wont go down another rabbit hole on it. Multiple "weak" classes in a row is bad for the league and dilutes the pool of players.
Odin:i cant name a single player from any of them, even the ones i drafted
KB Comments: It seems like everyone is really high on this draft class. Hopefully it pans out -- can’t wait for preseason.
10. Do you post on TMB? Why or why not?
Mike: What's a TMB? Nah, I'm full TMBSL.
Fecta: Yeah, quite a bit. Im very active on my team board and somewhat active in a couple of threads on the main main board. Its fun, there are pictures of hot women.
Druce: I do, but almost exclusively in a few threads: the sneaker thread and some of the soccer threads. I don't really even post in the Notre Dame thread that often anymore. The site was going down hill for a while with all the edgelords, but since the reckoning and them getting ostracized there have been some funny moments. Generally speaking as we age the less excitement and room for debauchery there is.
PointyEgg: Not sure if you’re talking about this forum or something that Im not aware of. No comment besides that
Timpig: I made an account there and posted for like a week. Now I probably check the board once a month but never post. Everyone there seems really up their own asshole so I stay away.
Eric: i navigated my internet web browser to TMB once and it told me to go back because there was a virus and i says to my browser i says thank you very much and i tip my hat and good day sir
Skrouse: Have been a long time poster after a good friend (afb) got me on there right outta high school. Originally got on because of my interest in CFB and wanting to follow recruiting but it's so much more than that. And I find it to be a good place to gain perspective. You've gotta filter out the noise and block the trolls. But I've made good friends on there. I played FIFA clubs with SugarShaun and others for 4 or 5 years, multiple nights a week. We became close, even flew up to Ohio for a USMNT match and stayed with Shaun. You've just gotta remember where you are and you'll be ok.
Majic: Yes, I stick to the 6-8 threads on topics that I enjoy; OSU, video games, TV shows. I stay away from all the threads that result in a ton of debate or awfulness.
Odin:yes because bored
KB Comments: I wonder if fecta’s wife knows how many NSFW threads he posts in on TMB
11. Okay -- time to switch it up with some toxicity -- What are your opinions on the wheel? Like it? Love it? Hate it? Do you have any ideas of changes that could make the wheel better?
Mike: Fuck the wheel, can we have a couple of seasons with the reg lotto ffs?
Fecta: Its so fucking stupid. I think it bad for parity and way too much luck is involved.
Druce: I fuckin hate it. I've made that abundantly clear. I am however revising my strategy to use it to my advantage. I think it's especially a disadvantage to someone taking an expansion team if they get a shitty slot. You've already got a blank slate of a team picking from scraps, coupled with free agency which is usually lacking in big name movement. The pro wheelers like to argue that it all evens out over a 29 season timeline, which of course is correct, but say you join a year or two after your slot would have had the first pick, then you're screwed. I showed in my old thread the disparity between average picks which was large in a 13 year sample. Take my wheel slot for example, I will not even make a #1 overall pick that is my pick to begin with from the time I entered the league to the time that we re-start. I just think the wheel is a huge advantage to keep the rich rich by allowing them to have a top 5 pick every couple of years, and if you miss with a top pick and are talent poor to begin with then you're fucked. Yes you can scout, blah blah blah, but if it's a shit draft class you can't just trade your #1 for typical #1 value. Any GM with a brain automatically values that 1.1 less than say 1.1 in the Tim Duncan or Allen Iverson or *insert legend here* draft and that in itself is a built in disadvantage and unfair part of the wheel.
PointyEgg: I don’t have complete understanding of how the wheel works but I cant complain. Seems fair to me. Id like for someone to fill me in on why they think it’s terrible. I’m not sure if it was help or hurt but here’s a raw idea: one team picks 1st, 14th the next year, 2nd the year after that, 13th, 3rd, 12th, 4th, 11th, 5th, 10th, 6th, 9th, 8th, then restart at 1st. The next team would pick 2nd, 13th, so on and so forth. I dont see how that wouldn’t work mathematically. Hopefully I made that clear/understandable.
Timpig: I like it. I think it makes it easier for pretty much everyone to understand value if you’re willing to put a bit of effort in. I don’t think it needs any modifications. I’m fine if people want to try a different method.
Eric: the wheel is perfect :) I SAID GOOD DAY
Skrouse: Wasn't a huge fan at first, definitely don't like some of the issues it presents from a fairness perspective as Druce has pointed out, but I think all in all it's been good for the league. It's a lot easier to trade with a known commodity. I originally thought that would actually hurt because you couldn't sell the potential value of a 1st round pick with it being in the lotto. But it's worked out better than expected and I'm ok with keeping it in place, but I do think we should try to fix it if possible.
Majic: I have made my feelings very well known around the league. I hate it, will never like it and look forward to moving on form it as soon as possible.
Odin: its fine but its no rookie fa
12. Speaking of drafting methods -- Rank your preferred methods in two ways: The order that you think is best for the health of the league and The order that you think you benefit the most personally from. Please list at least a) Weighted Lotto, b) Unweighted Lotto, c) Wheel, d) Rookie FA
Mike: Weighted.
Fecta: Weighted lotto, Unweighted, Rookie FA, throwing darts at BK's face, getting stung by murder hornets for hours on end....The wheel.
Druce: B, A, C, D I put D last because I have no experience with it and idk how it would work. As far as me personally, I can adapt to whatever so I don't care that much, but I think an unweighted lotto is best for the league and for keeping shitty teams interested.
PointyEgg: 12. C, B, D, A I’d say leave it up to chance if anything.
12b. A, D, B, C
Timpig: Wheel, unweighted lotto, weighted lotto, rookie FA. I don’t have a feel for Rookie FA yet so that’s more of an unknown at this point rather than an actual fourth place ranking. I can’t stand the weighted lotto because I don’t really enjoy the whole “trade every asset I have for a contending team’s next five firsts and tank to get the first pick.” It’s not creative. Trade negotiations always seem to end up the same way unless you have a #neverdraft GM like Eric, whose picks might still get traded despite having value. I honestly barely remember how the unweighted lotto went in the early parts of 5.0 other than Fecta sucking into being rewarded with three straight top three picks and turning that into five titles. I like the wheel because it prevents the same stupid “rinse and repeat” method of weighted lotto team building and it’s been proven that it’s a system in which very high draft picks can move and be accumulated. In a weighted lotto system, tanking teams don’t trade the top picks.
Eric: both answers are the same C D A B. tanking is toxic, free and fair and balanced competition is sic
Majic: Here is my order along:
1) Weighted Lotto - fair to the teams that are not good and forces the contending teams to be smart. Never had a problem with "tanking" as I think the majority of our 4.0 problems with it were caused by GM activity more than anything
*big gap between 1 and the rest*
2) Rookie FA - I am not overly excited about this but its the best of the options remaining
3) Unweighted Lotto - again, I hated this as well but its at least better than wheel
4) Wheel - not much to say here
Odin: D, C, B, A
13. And Speaking of Rookie FA, what's your take on it? Is it just going to be a shit-show or are you excited? Also, give us a guess of the % chance you think 6.0 will start out with Rookie FA as it’s draft system.
Mike: I just go along with whatever, just wanna hang around, hope I'm still here for 6.0.
Fecta: I dont like it, but I like it more than the wheel. Im also all about tanking, so I think we should just allow it and go to NFL style draft.
Druce: I have no idea honestly. It could work well for dispersing talent and be the solution everyone needs, IDK. The problem is running it concurrently with regular FA you're going to have a shit ton of rookies getting MLE level contracts and those are all random.
PointyEgg: I think it will be a shit-show AND I’m excited. If it’s a shit-show I’ll have a better chance at ending up on the right side of it.
Timpig: I expect a shit show and the bitching that comes with any sort of draft/lotto system. People will make stupid bids on trash players and then get mad because a system wasn’t in place that could save them from themselves.
Eric: i have already begun collecting data on rookie FA systems
Skrouse: I think it's going to be a shit show, I think it'll mess up the cap structure, we'll see more buyouts/amnesties, I do not have high hopes. I mean it could be fun, but I just don't see how that's going to go over well in a salary cap league. I think there is a 0% chance we carry it into 6.0. But time will tell
Majic: Not overly excited about it but at least its not wheel. I think it will be very tricky to navigate at first and we will see alot of bad contracts handed out. It could cause some teams to be screwed for many years if they miss on a pick. In regards to 6.0, I would love to move to a more traditional lotto style, whether that be weighted or some for of "tiered weighted". The league is in such a better place with participation since we last ran a regular lotto that I think it could be really successful.
Odin: yes, yes, 100%
14. If you could go back in time and change one move you’ve made in 5.0, what would it be? Would your team/success have looked significantly different otherwise?
Mike: mmm maybe the time I didn't know I could keep Manu Ginobili, otherwise I'm alright didn't do much.
Fecta: I would have accepted Mitch Richmond's max. Durant/Mitch/Anthony Davis/Cartwright would have been legit.
Druce: I would have put a better defender against Lebron in the conference finals a couple years ago and played Cummings at center. Do I think it would have mattered? Probably not.
PointyEgg: I probably would have taken some different guys in my expansion drafts. I just winged it, and I could’ve ended up with some solid young guys.
Timpig: In 2006 I traded my first round pick (1.27) to the Suns for 1,000 bucks because I needed to get rid of the pick so I could still have max space. Most teams wouldn’t trade for the pick because they didn’t want me to have the cap room, but the Suns did and drafted Qyntel Woods, who was basically a max-worthy player as a rookie. If I couldn’t move the pick I was planning on taking him, so it stung even more. I had a sliver of hope that he would fall to the pick I had at 2.1, but the Suns nabbed him and got a Hall of Fame player.
Eric: i don't want to close my eyes. i don't want to fall asleep
Majic: There are so many move/non-moves its hard to remember everything. The biggest one I can think of is my decision to hold onto David Robinson once it became clear my window had closed. I wish I would have tore down that roster right after the championship rather than trying to hang on. Could have given me a boost in assets to start a rebuild sooner.
Odin: playing livio in that one finals i lost to a shit blazers team
15. Nerf Lebron?
Mike: Nah, he's beatable is just way too fucking hard.
Fecta: No, great players should be great.
Druce: If it was going to be done it should have been done years ago, imo.
PointyEgg: Eh, if he were on anyone else’s team, that Gm wouldn’t want him to be nerfed so I’ll say no. Just luck of the draw I guess.
Timpig:
Eric: keep it moving
Skrouse: No, that's dick. If anything nerf the leagues ability to trade their 1.1s to Tim. People realize these things don't come around that often right?
Majic: Not at this point, though I would prefer we dont see a player as good as him anytime soon.
Odin: no, kill him off
16. Do you support using a small number of non-real draft classes at the end of 5.0 for whatever reason?
Mike: Sure, why not? Would love to see a draft class mixed painters and classical musicians, Leonardo Da Vinci dunking on Bethoven or some random shit like that.
Druce: I don't particularly care.
PointyEgg: Yes, only if their names are GM names or pop culture names.
Timpig: If they’re novelty classes, no. If they’re players from other classes who were missed for whatever reason and are combined into a non-real class of sorts, I’m fine with that. Guys like Ja Morant, Coby White, etc. would be welcome but I don’t want a Presidents class or anything like that.
Eric: if necessary, to further test rookie FA
Skrouse: Absolutely, I think we should def. have some fun with fake players towards the end. Would be great to do a GM based class.
Majic: Meh, I do not care either way, but if everyone is sticking around and ready to go I would much rather just move on to 6.0.
KB Comments: Non-real draft classes are a lot of fun, and I’m sure what triggers people to not like them, it’s just a few different letters in the “name column” that don’t happen to have played in the NBA. Would love to see a GMs class as the final class like in 4.0.
17. What’s your favorite breakfast food and how often do you get to eat it?
Mike: I barely get breakfast but when I do I prefer Medialunas( kinda a croissant)
Fecta:French toast, maybe once every 3 months. Trying to stay lean fellas.
Druce:Breakfast Nachos from a restaurant by my old house. I get it maybe once a year now.
Pancakes/waffles. It’s like eating dessert in the morning. I don’t eat them often because they make me feel like shit and make me want to shit at the same time.

Timpig: Probably Jimmy Dean maple breakfast sausage or Aidell’s caramelized onion chicken meatballs. Both accompany scrambles perfectly and I’d say I eat one of the two 3-4 days per week.
Skrouse: Bacon, about once a month
Majic: I will give 2 answers, one for homemade and one for fast food. My favorite fastfood breakfast is the Steak, egg and cheese bagel sandwich from McDonalds, thing is amazing. Homemade I love to make ham, egg and cheese bagels. Use some fresh sliced honey ham alogn with some slightly runny eggs, so good.
Odin: now this is a question i can go on about.
first and foremost, the best breakfast foods are incredibly unhealthy so i rarely get to eat them but i would rank them as follows:
1. anything cinnamon
2. birthday cake
3. cold pizza
now, these things are clearly not the healthiest breakfast options but they are my favorites. a healthy breakfast would include any of the following:
organic, uncured bacon
sausage, ground or properly encased
egg yolks
avocado
various sauteed greens
mushrooms
bulletproof coffee
green tea
cheese
bulgarian yogurt
however the absolute best breakfast is no breakfast. everyone should fast at least 16 hours per day to promote autophagy and healthy cell growth. dont listen to general mills, you dont need to eat breakfast.
KB Comments: I don’t eat breakfast. BONUS: [When asked by me how he handles eggs on french toast -- fecta revealed that he cheats]
18. What question do you wish had been asked in this RT? Go ahead and ask that and answer it here.
Mike:
Q: Do you believe the league will miss Norm Nixon?
A: Yes, dearly.Fecta:
Q: "What team is setup the best for the next 5 years and why is it the Hornets"
A: GALO BABY.Druce:
Q: Nothing comes to mind.
A: N/A
A: N/A
PointyEgg:
Q: Has ward ever tried to trade-rape you?
A: Yes, he has
Timpig:Q: None. Such a good round table. So comprehensive. Can’t imagine what else someone would want to discuss.A: Yes, he has
A: N/A
Eric:
more aggressive firing GM measures no offense
Skrouse:
Q: Do I enjoy BK being in the league?
A: Yes, yes I do. He can be a bit dramatic at times but I remember being that way when I was younger. I think he needs to figure out how to control his emotions a little better and not allow them control him, but it's much easier said than done. All in all I think it's good for the league to have someone that keeps us on our toes, never knowing what he's going to do next, but quitting shouldn't be one of those things. So I'm glad he's still here. And he does provide some comic relief at times, and making people laugh is always a good thing.

Majic:
Q: What do you enjoy about sim league?
A: I am going on 4 or 5 years in Sim league and honestly still enjoy it quite a bit. I know that I can get very vocal anytime there are rules I dont like, but overall its a fun place to hang out.
