Adrienne Wojneusfeilrskiwww.TMBSL.com/tmbsl5/nonopinion/editorsnote/"It's laughable. Pathetic." Those were the first words muttered by LeBron "King in the North Beach" James following practice in Chicago, the only city he has ever called home. James' statement was, of course, in response to the embarrassingly transparent attempts by the general managers in Dallas and Vancouver to fellate James' ego with the hope that he'll join their respective teams in free agency. "I play in the greatest city, with the greatest teammates, greatest coaches, and greatest front office in the history of the game. Why would I ever want to leave?" continued James. It didn't stop there. In a rare moment of defiance from James, he (almost?) praised the general manager of the Charlotte Hornets. It is well-known around the league that anyone in the Bulls' organization is levied a hefty fine for remarks complimentary of the team that has been a bottom-dweller since their last title 24 years ago when James was just four years old. Hornets GM Fecta Kepla took a bold but predictably stupid public stand to declare that James was not the best player ever to grace TMBSL. "He said that?" James asked with a laugh. "At least he's honest with his thoughts? I guess I wouldn't expect anything more. Didn't he retire though?" James concluded the post-practice press conference by urinating on the Hornets logo that sits beneath the Dippin' Dots cart in the media-access only area, as is tradition.
