- Selected by the Carolina Cougars on contraction waivers when Oakland was contracted in the 2017 offseason
- Offered to re-sign with Carolina for a full max following the expiration of his rookie deal; he was rebuffed and ultimately signed in Utah for $60,000,000 over 6 years
