A mere week after suggesting adding 4 more teams was an obscure possibility TMBSL now finds itself on the brink of re-alignment pending Detlef Schrempf’s physical. How did we get here and what does it mean you ask? Initial reaction from me is that pointyegg and Detlef are fake people eric created to push the wheel modification proposal narrative he created. Further wonder has me asking how long egg or Schrempf will last. The realization is that re-alignment hasn’t just been proposed it will be necessary moving forward assuming these characters stick. So where does that leave the league? Who benefits? Who doesn’t? THAT is the question on at least 4 peoples minds.
Central:
In the central we find the defending champion Globetrotters and 3 iterations of the Washington Generals. The Globes are the very clear cream of the crop here. Kn is holding on like Jack in Titanic. Is there plenty of door for him to grab onto? Sure, but like his on screen counterpart Kn will “never let go” as he fades into the abyss. The perpetually rebuilding Pistons are inhabit this division. Is Julius just what the doctor ordered for the Motor City? I hope so if only for Mike’s sake. The city needs a glimmer of hope as does their Argentine leader. Rounding out this murder’s row (and by that I mean death row) are the Charlotte Hornets. For as much as Fecta is on auto pilot it wouldn’t surprise me if their team charter is a Tesla airplane.
Atlantic:
This division boasts a couple perennial contenders and another could be contender in the Magic, Hawks, and Heat. Each of these teams is at least run by someone paying attention, and I’m not counting newishguy out from learning the ropes and steadying the ship. The Magic/Hawks battles at the top will be fun to watch and Odin has stacked some talent on South Beach. All 4 of these teams should be a playoff lock moving forward, which I’m not sure you can say about the Central.
Midwest:
It seems a bit out of place to have the Bulls in the western conference, but the Detroit Red Wings were in the NHL’s western conference for years so we’ll just go with it. Tim, Delap, and Billy provide a not so comfortable nest for this new egg to hatch. Tim is obviously a proven winner as is delap and I’m sure Billy has proven something in this league, I’m just not quite sure what exactly it is. Tim is the clear cream of the crop as the Mavs and B-Holes are rebuilding so egg will at least get to land softly at first. If things go as planned in Dallas and Taint-City don’t expect this division to remain soft for long.
Pacific:
The Pacific is much like the Central, only lacking a defending champ. Majic (I guess?) has the most recent success from this group, and has a very young team who is looking to find it’s footing. Meanwhile The Couv has it’s team back for the first time in decades. Can I (Druce) build a contender as I did so frequently before? Who the hell knows? Can I (Druce) keep up with you young whipper snappers as an elder statesman? Or has the game passed me (Druce) by? Luckily I’ll have the Oaks and presumably the Sonics to beat up on while we figure that out. It should be a tight race in the pacific northwest while we see if the youngins in Portland can blaze their own trail, or the Grizz can use the three point line to their advantage.
