👨🏼⚕️delapandemic🚑 wee2dee Majic TimPig skrouse @odin kn88 Muzunga Mike jhb kujo @bkisok newishguy Druce pointyeggwe now have 15 GMs there are 29 team spots in the software this means that not every team can have a minor league affiliate not every team currently wants one but we should have rules in place to determine what happens if they did . solution 1 each GM PMs me a pig penny amount before the playoffs. if there are X empty team slots and >X GMs who want them, the highest X amounts get a minor league affiliate for that year. if an affiliate changes hands, all human players will go through the free agency process (including resignings) as the major league team, just like expirings do now. i'm probably going to do this one solution 2 joint minor league affiliates. can also be combined with the solution above, so two GMs could co-bid on a team. what do we do if each of two parents wants to send down 8 players? solution 3 league owned minor league affiliates. i just send players down to random minor league clubs. this would be murder to keep track of and so there would be significantly fewer transfer periods . open to other suggestions

solution 3 seems like the most future proof option
solution 2 is far more practical and will still work for a long time

joint minor league teams with a limit of 7 players sent down by each gm problem solved Yep, split teams with limited roster spots seems like the easy solution

Option 2, 7 max per team
clause: team can send money to their affiliate partner to buy additional slots, if so desired

There is no reason to have over 7 of your players in the minors.

how about option 3 but we always note which team they're on when making moves

Option 2, I will share with my best bud delap who I’ve been colluding with for years anyways

pretty compelling data here since nobody is against option 1, that's what we'll do no but seriously folks if we do joint teams, we'll be starting this offseason if people want to post in this thread a partner they want and both parties accept, that's fine, otherwise i'll assign them randomly this is also going to delay resignings a little bit longer since it'll take me more work to figure out which team minor expirings need to go to

now that i think about it we can just wait until we need to consolidate two teams
that way we won't slow down resignings until we have to
okay, problem solved, good work everyone

We actually dont need to consolidate any until all 15 teams elect a minor team

joint teams seems like the easiest option, just placing a cap at 6 so that there are no IR slots for a sent down player
