Read an article today on the Ringer with this endorsement of Markelle Fultz: "But players without a reliable shot like Andre Miller, Shaun Livingston, and Rajon Rondo can serve as models for success."
Andre Miller retired in 2016, his last year as a full time starter was 2011, and he shot 40% on long twos.
Shaun Livingston retired last off season, his last year as a full time starter was 2014, and he shot 39% on long twos.
Fultz for his career is making a crisp 31% of his long twos and 23% of his threes. If he takes a BIG step up he can be AS good as a couple retired backup point guards. "success" seems a little bit strong.
(Rajon Rondo has shot 36% from three the past five years, so he's not a useful comp to begin with.)

Dismissing the rondo comp is dumb because rondo was better before he shot 3s

I think the jury is still out on his potential. Shot can get better, he shot 40%+ in college from 3, I am aware of the length diff, took JJ Redick time to adjust too. Not to mention he's played a total of 47 Nba games, more than half of which were with a neurological disorder affecting his ability to raise his arms, which is required to *checks notes* shoot a fucking basketball.
Saying the #1 overall pick in a draft can't play in the league, with those circumstances, is a bit unfair in my view.

The fact that his free throw shooting has somewhat returned to normal should be encouraging in that aspect
