While it was a different story than Antawn Jamison's, the outcome ultimately proved the same. DeAndre Ayton, who Chicago traded a multitude of picks and young assets for, was never able to put together the all-league season in Chicago that had come to be expected of him when he played for Milwaukee. Part of his downfall can likely be traced back to Jamison, who left Chicago just as the two were entering their prime. Ayton claimed that offseason that he was ready to carry the Bulls into the Jamison-less future, but unfortunately for Chicago, he just couldn't back up those words with his play.
