Reports out of Dallas indicate that there have been high-level, substantive talks between DelapThrows and Kyrie Irving during the off-season. These talks have centered on the future of the Mavericks Organization and Irving's desires to play competitive basketball. Both sides have agreed that they can happily continue their relationship and rebuild around Kyrie for the rest of his career. Long-time Mav and TMBSL HOFer Cameron Reddish was brought in on the talks to reinforce to Mr. Irving that Dallas will treat the face of the franchise with respect and will never force them to do anything or go through a low period if they don't want to. Irving did not request a trade before, during, or after the meeting, but has indicated through his agent that he would be OK to be moved to a contender. If that doesn't happen, he plans on playing in every game and earning his 5th MVP award along with making the playoffs.
GM DelapThrows, when asked, indicated that the discussions had occurred and sent a message to any other GMs by indicating that Dallas is not desperate at all, so the price will not be cheap.
