Close your eyes for a second.
Got 'em closed? Great.
Now think really, really hard about the greatest players that have ever graced TMBSL.
Now, allow me to run through a few names.
Yao Ming? Duh.
Hakeem Olajuwon? Sure.
Lew Alcindor/Kareem Abdul-Jabbar? Definitely.
Kyrie Irving? Not even 30 years old and a surefire Hall of Famer.
David Robinson, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Stephen Jackson, Tracy McGrady?
I could do this all day folks.
An impressive list for sure.
But not a single one of the aforementioned players did what Greg Oden was able to do this season.
I bet you're really wondering what the HECK this 19-year-old could've done that was SO SPECIAL that not a SINGLE player was able to do it before him.
Bet you're also tired of all of these line breaks, aren't you?
Well, my friend, we're just getting started.
Leading the league in field goal percentage as a rookie? He did, but that's not it.
Finishing in the top 10 in points per game, rebounds per game, blocks per game, points per true shot attempt, player efficiency rating, and usage AS A ROOKIE?!?!?!
Yep, but that's not what we're here for.
Unanimous winner of the prestigious Rookie of the Year award? Obviously, but try again.
No, even among the Mt. Rushmore of TMBSL greats, none were able to accomplish what Oden did this year.
Even amongst the sea of great faces in the recently-canceled Ellen DeGeneres' famed selfie of TMBSL greats - containing like a billion TMBSL all-stars - not one accomplished what Gregory Wayne Oden, Jr. did in the Windy City during the Year of Our Lord 2025.
So, what did he do, you ask?
Well, ask no more, comrade.
That's right.
Six consecutive Rookie of the Month awards.
Untainted by the Kevin Durants, Marc Gasols, and Al Horfords of the world.
Bravo, Mr. Oden.
Chicago is glad to have you.
