For anyone who didn't hear, starting with the 2017 draft we will use the software version of the weighted lotto.
If there has been no improvement in # of GMs in the league by the 2022 draft, we will go back to unweighted lotto.
.
For as long as the league has a weighted lotto we will be reimplementing anti-tanking rules.
Before sim 1, every team will be required to either have traded their first round pick for the upcoming draft or start at least one qualified point, wing, and big
where "qualified" is defined as a player who has at least .03 career ws/48 or was drafted in the first round of the preceding draft.
Teams that do not meet these requirements will be assigned the highest remaining career ws/48 players in the FA pool at the relevant position ten minutes into the post-TC signing period.
.
These requirements aren't that hard to meet. Without even knowing about them the only teams to not make it this year are the Cavaliers and Cougars, neither of whom have an eligible point guard - the Cavaliers don't have a guard of any kind under contract, for the Cougars Butch Beard is trash and BJ Armstrong is a second round rookie.
The All Stats google doc pinned in the Articles forum will be kept up to date for people to view career ws/48 of all players at any point.
Like every rule, these requirements will be subject to change if they prove too harsh or too lenient.
