So, I know a true patriot like Timpig doesnt watch or follow The Worlds game, but a lot of us have been infiltrated by communist ideals and do pay attention to Football, or soccer as they call it in this capitalistic hellscape.
One of the cool things that the leagues do in soccer is allowing for "loaning out" players. Teams do not get any compensation for loaning out these players other than the other team paying that players salary. The reasons teams do this, particularly the big clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG etc ( pretty much the soccer equivalent to the sim Hornets) is because they want their young players to get exposure, playing time and to see what they can do.
I think we should implement this in the sim league, it would allow for teams to see what younger players could do and would allow for other teams to add a piece that could help them win more games. For example, I know that Skrouse wants a third big, in this system I would "loan" him Kwame Brown and he would play for the Magic, but would still be a Hornet, he would just be playing for the Magic for the current year.
Thoughts ?

Its not the same as the team loaning the player gets no compensation.

so the big issue i see is salary cap. it won't be a problem making it work in the software, i'll just edit the player directly onto the other team. but should we allow a team over the soft cap to take on a player in this way? conversely, should we allow a capped out team to clear up cap room by doing so?
my feeling is that we can trust the invisible hand to take care of the first part, people won't send a good player to a team they think can actually hurt them.
for the second part, i can just add a cut salary for the present year as a cap placeholder.
.
another concern, can let teams negotiate for compensation either way? in the OP example fecta can say to skrouse 'well you're the one who needs a big, gimme 2k' and skrouse can say to fecta 'well you're the one who wants to see if this player's any good, gimME 2k'. having engaged in trade talks with you people i imagine the overwhelming majority of loans would be nipped in the bud, which would be a shame.
.
finally, to keep things under control i propose transfer windows before sim 1, sim 3, sim 6, and sim 9. players can be sent on or recalled from loan on those sims and no other.
we also definitely won't be able to do the English style 'can't play against your parent club' rule, i'm not getting into all that, but that's a minor thing

It would just be a scenario where it would be beneficial for both teams.

There is preseason where you can set your own DC to get a look at young players
