Right before the deadline, Lakers management felt like they needed to make a move. This reporter was able to interview GM SPL.
Reporter Lipshitz - why do you feel you needed to make this move?
SPL - the past 2 seasons he was averaging under 6 rebounds per game at SF and it just wasn’t cutting it.
Lipshitz - what are your expectations with this trade?
SPL - I have a little interest in Miles to see what he can do, he had no minutes at Atlanta and after his trade to Denver, he performed well in a non scoring option role. Worst case scenario is this frees up cap room for me a year earlier. Best case, I found a hidden gem.
