A GM can only trade future first round picks for as many seasons away as they have been GMing, up to five years. Thus a GM who takes over a team today could only trade their 2010 first round pick (if available), after the next draft they could trade 2011 and 2012, and so on.
GM user Ian Boyd brought this up recently and I think it's worth considering, but as always I'm willing to consider feedback.

my thoughts
-hurts new GMs because they have less trade ammo -helps new GMs because they have less ways to ruin their teams -helps old GMs because they can spend less time trying to ruin a new GM's team -helps new GMs because they're more likely to inherit a team that has its picks
so i'm leaning towards putting it in
