Lots of meh with a sprinkle of good You don't get it. Ayton, Neon, Nick King, and Withers clearly weren't taking me anywhere. Two of those four were very old and returning almost nothing. That leaves Ayton and King as the only assets with value. Considering I had no first round picks for five years, I wasn't going to add anything around them. Or would you have hung on to Ayton and his $20,000,000 contract and an aging Nick King and hoped those two won you a title?

because I always anjoy a good retrospective look at trades/rebuilds I looked back on my changes
So this was my top 7 for 2005:
Malcolm Moore Isaac Bonga Andre Turner Shareef O'Neal Etan Thomas Dirk Nowitzki Igor Rakocevic
I lost Shareef to FA for nothing, but after I then flipped that roster into a top 7 that now looks like this:
Caron Butler Isaac Bonga RJ Cole Drew Gooden Mitchell Robinson Etan Thomas Anfernee Simons
Hard to say at this point, but overall depth and skill I like the current roster better than the other one. In addition the only major future asset I lose out on is a first round pick in the 2010 Draft.

Considering that group had about one season to accomplish anything, I'm comfortable with my decision to act when I did. i dont really agree with that Ayton getting progressively worse the past two years, Neon at 35, Withers at 34, and King at 31 didn’t leave much of a window. I felt as though Ayton’s value was decreasing and Neon’s and Withers’ was pretty much already gone. King is good but he wasn’t winning me a championship alone.
