Doing a podcast, first ever, flying solo also so that should go over well...
Please provide some mailbag questions to give the illusion of it not being solo, will be covering a state of the league as well as my first ever power rankings.
League related questions only, thought I may do a get to know your host mailbag at the end of the show so you can send some of those too. Appreciate y'all.

Here is the link to my 1st ever pod, hope I did OK. I am sick so apologies for the way my voice sounds. Also need to get a better mic soundcloud.com/user-576412151/skrouses-2-cents-episode-1Power Ranking notes 1 Phoenix Suns (32-12) Top 10 Wins: 6 - Clippers (H,A), Pacers(A), Jazz(H), Hornets(A), Mavs(A) MVP: Hakeem Olajuwon Supporting Cast: Stephon Templeton, Max Zaslofsky, Qyntel Woods Overview: 6 Top 10 Ws, Top 3 in efficiency on both sides of the court, Hakeem crushing it with 3.7 bleals/gm while averaging 25/13, only knit pick is his TOs individually a little above average at 2.2 TOPG but at 9.9 per game they are low for a team. Butch on his last leg, team lacks depth, no major bench contributors, a single injury could derail the season but this can be said for most contenders. Will be tough for teams to attack them in the paint, PG is probably greatest defensive weakness, may struggle against a PG led team like Houston or Indiana, currently 1-1 vs those teams combined 2 Indiana Pacers (30-14) Top 10 Wins: 6 - Bucks (H,A), Jazz(H), Magic(A), Rockets(H), Hornets(A) MVP: Daniel Taurasi Supporting Cast: Victor Oladipo, Morris Peterson Overview: 6 Top 10 Ws, 3 on the road, maybe the deadliest trio of wings in the league, all 3 can score in bunches, shoot the rock and play above average to great defense. Anchored in the paint by long time Pacer Donta Hall (3.4 BPG), need to add some depth, like the Suns very starter dependent. 3 New York Knicks (27-15) Top 10 Wins: 7 - Bucks(H), Pacers(A,H), Hornets(H), Clippers(A), Jazz(A), Mavs(A) MVP: Firsto Picko Supporting Cast: Brandon Griner, Jock Landale, Nick King Overview: 7 Top 10 Ws, one of the top front courts in the league as far as defense and scoring led by former MVP Firsto and new addition Brandon Griner, though both are a little weak on the glass, addition of King should help remedy that. The team numbers are good overall but don't blow you away, however they have played a tough schedule and won big games so far. I expect their Win % to increase as the year goes on, a little weak in the backcourt as Halpert has been mediocre, not a ton of depth but they do have a 6th man of the year candidate in Landale. 4 Houston Rockets (24-10) Top 10 Wins: 8 - Mavs(H,A), Magic(H), Pacers(H), Clippers(H,A,H), Suns(A) MVP: Brain Winter Supporting Cast: Antawn Jamison* Overview: A league best 8 Top 10 Ws, led by the 1 man show of future first ballot HOFer Brain Winter, Robin to his Batman fresh from the Chicago Carnival is Antawn Jamison, the dynamic duo have this team rolling. They are weak on the glass but very efficient offensively and take care of the ball as they are a top 5 team in TOs. Severely lacking depth and very susceptible to injury. I would try to add one more piece if I was GM but with Brain you're always in good shape 5 Dallas Mavericks (28-10) Top 10 Wins: 6 - Magic(H), Jazz(A,H), Hornets(A), Suns(A), Bucks(A) MVP: Cameron Reddish Supporting Cast: George Mikan, Al Harrington Overview: 6 Top 10 wins, a top 10 team on both sides of the ball lead by Reddish and Mikan. They take good care of the ball, only Mikan with slightly high TOs at 2.2 per game. A little weak at the point, could be susceptible to PG strong teams like Rockets and Pacers. Not a ton of depth, if Reddish goes down the team is toast, I think Reddish could carry the team a bit if Mikan goes out for a short run but not too long. 6 Utah Jazz (33-13) Top 10 Wins: 3 - Knicks(A), Rockets(H), Pacers(H) MVP: Gary Bossert Supporting Cast: Yante Maten*(Inj), Mustapha Heron & Sarunas Jasikevicius Overview: Only 3 Top 10 Ws, very efficient team, 2nd overal in +/- EFF; very clean team, best in the league with TO +/- at +3.5, very solid all around though the team has aged a bit and did lose a key contributor Clarence Withers in the off season, Heron has stepped in nicely and the team has performed well during Maten's injury who's missed 19/46 games so far still a top 5 team. Will be tough to beat, no glaring weakness on either side of the floor. 7 Charlotte Hornets (22-15) Top 10 Wins: 4 - Knicks(H,H), Bucks(A), Rockets(A) MVP: Yao Ming Supporting Cast: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Vince Carter Overview: 4 Top 10 Ws, very talented team offensively, has a lot of depth and balance, can make a run despite an injury to any position but C. Yao in MVP race but won't win cuz of the software, has multiple key contributors off the bench which helps with injuries and foul trouble, #1 in TOPG as a team, slightly weak on D. A team with a good set of perimeter players can run them outta the gym, beware Indiana 8 Orlando Magic (28-15) Top 10 Wins: 6 - Rockets(H), Knicks(H,A,A), Hornets(H), Bucks(A) MVP: Guy Beahm Supporting Cast: Clarence Withers Overview: 6 Top 10 Ws, team can score in bunches with 2 elite wings in Guy and Withers but they leave much to be desired at other positions, players are efficient but not top caliber, good depth with Q Rich, Wilder and Haynes. One of the best rebounding teams in the league but below average shooting team, will nee to improve to be a serious contender, probably still at least 1 piece away from that even in the shooting does improve, may struggle against squads with a top flight PG or C 9 Los Angeles Clippers (25-14) Top 10 Wins: 5 - Bucks(H), Magic(A), Mavs(H), Suns(H), Pacers (H) MVP: Sam Perkins Supporting Cast: Luke Maye, DeAndre Ayton, Markell Johnson Overview: 5 Top 10 Ws but this team has seen a lot of changes lately, trading for Ayton was big, the team went 12-4 in their first go with the new big man. He and Perkins form probably the best front court currently. Maye and Johnson are very solid at the 3 and 1 as LiAngelo Ball is the only real weakness in the starting lineup. The team is efficient offensively but could use some improvement on the defensive end, Ayton should help there. I expect this team to rise in the rankings as the season rolls ahead 10 Milwaukee Bucks (25-16) Top 10 Wins: 6 - Clippers(H), Knicks(H), Magic(A), Jazz(H), Suns(H,A) MVP: Jay Williams Supporting Cast: Champ Godbolt, Malcolm Moore, Troy Brown Overview: 6 Top 10 Ws, led by the only other 'maybe something crazy happens with the software' MVP candidate Jay Williams, great scorer, great passer, could improve TOs but very solid A/TO ratio of 4.76. Godbolt did his best to make his 2nd ASG appearance but fell short, playing very well in all facets, you'd hope for a few more points outta Moore and Brown with Jay Wil distributing but Guyton off the bench with 15 PPG is a big lift. This team is balanced and should be a contender down the stretch

10,000.
Enjoyed the solo pod. Having co-hosts makes it more fun but it also means it's much easier to get bogged down in single topics as you go back and forth. Not necessarily a bad thing at all.

Also I can’t remember exactly what you said about the Knicks and their PGs but I think you severely underrated Quincy McCall.

I mean I'd need to go back and re-listen but I remember you saying something about McCall being meh. Also, I do now recall you saying Whitey is whatever. That was a bad take IMO.

i feel like there's a difference between easy to negotiate with and making offers you want. if i offer you five firsts for a random min scrub but it takes us 20 PMs and three days to get there, that's an offer you want but a hard negotiation. like anyone my offers aren't always going to match what the other GM wants, but i'm always direct and up front with what i'm offering and what i'm looking for
