preseason
.
1. Dale Ellis SG
Look it could have been worse. Dale's efficiency is average, his d/r numbers are nice, and he doesn't turn it over. Is he Yao Ming, no. Is he ever going to be Yao Ming, no. Is he fit to stoop to tie Yao Ming's size 18 Reeboks, no. But he's a perfectly serviceable player that with some big investment or lucky TCs could become a legit star.
.
2. Craig Ehlo SG
A B- Inside scorer who can't break 70% from the line probably doesn't have a 52% true talent level from the field. But we're gonna need a lot of help to fill out the ladder this year so for now he can stay.
.
3. Byron Scott* PG
Former Coach of the Year (yes, really) Byron Scott rebounds really well for a point guard and otherwise is merely slightly below average. The high Jumper makes his scoring look a lot more sustainable which is good since it's only mediocre.
.
4. Ralph Sampson C
The most balanced big man in the class, Ralph gives you good rebounding, middling defense, poor scoring efficiency, and doesn't turn it over too terribly much. The hope is a big scoring investment makes him capable on that end and he hits some standard TCs to get to the 2 block per game range, and then you've got yourself a real solid third big. With some dream TCs a legit starter isn't out of the question.
.
5. Steve Stipanovich C
Stip gets buckets but for a club with team wide allergy to shooting the d@ng ball, and the efficiency isn't there. Of greater concern is obviously the infinitesimal blocks, which are almost certainly unsalvageable. Maybe he gets lucky and hits 13 or 14 boards per game but even then I think he's constrained to novelty status.
.
6. Thurl Bailey PF
Bailey is probably consigned to the same fate for the opposite reason. Although his efficiency is great, his blocks are legit for a rookie, and he's got at least 100 Handling, the scoring volume is probably too low to ever become a serious contributor. +25 this man's Inside Scoring, Whoever is the Current Raptors GM!
.
7. Dennis Moore PF
Everyone from here on out is outright bad. Moore's bugaboo is the scoring efficiency, but if he gets astonishing Inside Scoring TCs and a Jump Shot investment he could become a good one. The safer play is just Inside Scoring and be satisfied with a poor man's Stromile Swift type.
.
8. Darrell Walker SG
Doesn't give you anything but doesn't take anything away either. A solid minimum contract candidate.
.
9. Dawson Augmon PF
Dennis Moore if he had terrible Handling. And he still makes the ladder.
:trashola:
.
10. Manute Bol C
A legit threat to get as many bleals as rebounds, which is a great thing or a horrifying thing depending on how you look at it. Can't score and the Handling is a minus.
