Shocking allegations have been levied against the Indiana Pacers organization. Under the condition a anonymity, an inside source has give the Sim League Gazette a first hand account of some of the working conditions for players and staff.
According to The Sim League Gazette, the demand for nonstop winning among the team has pushed its players and workers to the limits. In one case, a staffer had to leave work for a nosebleed that wouldn’t stop. Rather than getting blood on the court, he went straight to a team doctor for medical help. Even though he provided the team manager with a doctor’s note, he was fired immediately because his medical issue disrupted the speed of practice and the flow of the team.
Despite the fact that the majority of people working in the organization are paid a significant salary most would agree that money does not buy happiness. If a player is under-performing, he is forced to spend all hours of the day and night watching film. All of the staff and team officials are also pushed to the max. Overtime without increased pay is standard, pushing people to stay all hours of the night if they must meet a deadline This also forces parents to stay at the arena longer, without being able to go home to see their family.
The Gazette Source indicated that this is a major point of emphasis that is driven solely by the GM of the team, Heebs. "He couldn't care less about how we feel, or how sore we are, he just pushes us to go more, go harder and to never stop"
These accusations are coming to light in the wake of Shabazz's decision to turn down significantly more money to sign with another team. Sources tell us that the Pacer's offered Shabazz a contract almost double that of all other teams, yet he made the decision to leave. "If you ask me, he had been wanting out for a while. The title was great for the tea, but I am not sure it was worth it for all the sacrifices these guys have made. I wish Shabazz the best and hope I too can one day get out."
