A war of words erupted today between the commissioner's office and embattled Kings GM William "The Bruce" King. The controversy stems from an extension of a mid level exception contract late last season, an extension that as reported by the TMBSL Tribune at the time provoked a small imbroglio when senior sources at T. D. Pig Bank Ameritrade divulged that King's paperwork was far from in order and had a foul odor besides.
The paperwork was eventually steam cleaned and ironed out only, but Sacramento this morning alleged that it had not been processed at league headquarters. The Tribune was unable to confirm or deny this allegation; as most know, the league office is a whirlwind of activity at the free agency deadline, so this was not considered unusual. Signings were announced and most found the criss cross of distant relatives Guy Beahm-Asterisk and Antawn Jamison-Asterisk of most note - not so Bill King, who multiple onlookers observed in discussion with an anonymous GM who just reacquired Collin Sexton by trading with the Wizards.
King: Did Grayson Allen get added to my roster? Ian B-oops I mean Anonymous GM: no
The situation predictably escalated from there, but before name changes or longcats became involved order was (mercifully) restored with an official press release from the league office, quote:
"He is clearly on there, blind [expletive] mother[expletive]ers."
Both PID 442 and Peyton Perkins declined comment for this story.
