This trade may not end in a Hornets title, but it sure as hell makes him the runaway GM of the year/decade.

But really, Fecta traded one of the most efficient players in the league this year, along with four firsts, for a guy who is shooting 90 points worse, turns it over 1.4 more times, and gets him 1.3 more bleals per game.

O'Neal is two years younger and not getting paid a max while Bamba is.

This should shorten Fecta's window since he won't be able to max Bamba, Carter, Giannis, and Yao. Shareef has already shown he isn't very greedy in both his initial resign and in free agency last season so there may have been some hope with him.

bamba is a MUCH better defender and a slightly better scorer. he'll shoot less on a good team and so turn it over less too. they're both maxed out on upgrades. shareef isn't a 55 FG% type player, that's just noise. know how i know? NOBODY's a 55 FG% type player, least of all a guy who can't crack 80% from the line

by my count the hornets will have ~64m on yao bamba giannis vince in the first year of yao's max, which is plenty doable. depending on how he structures the bamba contract they might go over the cap with just those four in 2013, but who cares about 2013

don't like it for the bucks. if the suns do nothing they'll have hakeem steph and max the year before the 09 pick, good luck getting that into the lotto in the worstern. the mavs have reddish and tillie, if they bring back one of mikan or harrington that's a wrap too. it does give them a little breathing room to bring back moore, but i'd rather have bamba and MLE wing at half the price than shareef and moore.
