My family always gets together to celebrate Thanksgiving. I don't complain. There is free turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. This year, however, we did something a little bit different. Instead of roasting the turkey, we deep fried it in peanut oil. While I was waiting for the food to become available, I kept wondering how you get oil out of a peanut. All the peanuts I've ever eaten have been very dry.
My father is a rather intelligent man, so I asked him: "Where does peanut oil come from?"
He said very matter-of-factly, "You get a bunch of peanuts and you squeeze them really really hard."
I was amazed by the simplicity of it, and asked "Is that so?"
"Basically," he replied.
"Oh," I said, "So then, where does baby oil come from?"
