Wow.
It didn't take long for the TMBSL Official Mock Draft to go off the rails.
With the first overall pick, the Charlotte Hornets surprised no one in selecting 19-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo, the 6-foot-11 small forward out of Greece that is oozing with potential. Scouts say that he's already grown an inch since the TMBSL combine a month ago and is now pushing seven feet tall.
"Έχω ακούσει ότι οι Σάρλοτ Hornets είναι ο καλύτερος οργανισμός στο πρωτάθλημα," said Antetokounmpo. "Ο άφοβος ηγέτης τους Φέτα Κέπλα μου είπε ότι είναι η καλύτερη ομάδα και όλοι θέλουν να παίξουν γι 'αυτούς. Έχουν κερδίσει κάθε πρωτάθλημα κάθε χρόνο. Είμαι πολύ ενθουσιασμένος που έφυγα από την Ελλάδα και έκανα πολλά αμερικανικά δολάρια."
That's when things really started to go wild.
With the second pick, Nuggets general manager Mr. Mike PC took big man Rudy Gobert out of France. It was a curious selection considering the Nuggets grabbed two big men in the lottery last year in Kenyon Martin and Livio Jean-Charles. Martin, in particular, appears to play a very similar game to Gobert. Between the two of them, they'll be lucky to make 35% of their free throws.
"I was considering (Victor) Oladipo at two, sure," admitted Mike. Oladipo is who FOX Sports Uno analyst Jaime Barba had the Nuggets selecting at 1.2. "But then I realized that dumb **** can't play point guard so he can bust somewhere else. We take pride in the careers that we ruin. We can't wait for Rudy to get to Denver and immediately regret leaving his home country."
"I also considered ruining Dennis Schroder's career, but we figured he'll do a perfectly fine job of that on his own."
The Pacers took a major risk shortly after the Gobert pick had been submitted to TMBSL commissioner D. Ruce Dickinson.
Toronto, who originally owned the third pick, was interested in a big man but didn't see anyone worthy of going that high. Sources tell me they liked Oladipo, but were already pretty set at the wing with Miles Bridges and Cuttino Mobley locked up for the foreseeable future.
That's when Oladipo's hometown team, the Pacers, came calling. Pacers GM A. Hebrew II traded FIVE first round picks, including the 19th pick this year, their next three first round picks, and the Orlando Magic's 2007 first round pick, which the Pacers had acquired in the Keita Bates-Diop deal.
It was widely known that the Pacers would do just about anything for the chance to grab Oladipo, which gave Raptors GM Bro Cane the ability to drive up his asking price.
"Here in Indiana, it's important that we keep our stars home," said Hebrew II. "Here's some breaking news for you: we're doing everything we can to acquire Romeo Langford right now as well."
That wasn't even the craziest thing to happen in the first four picks.
With the fourth overall selection, the Boston Celtics selected Dennis Schroder, becoming the third team in the first four picks to go overseas seeking talent. Schroder hails from Germany, but the poor level of competition there had many believing he'd be lucky to be a lottery pick at all. Most thought he was perhaps the third or fourth best point guard available.
"We needed a marketable player," said Celtics GM Avocado. "Schroder has a cool orange spot in his hair that we think will really attract the fans in Boston who had forgotten about this team. He runs pretty fast so it kind of looks like there's a little orange streak that follows him when he's going up and down the court. Think of the cool arena promotions we can do with that!"

"I have heard the Charlotte Hornets are the best organization in the league," said Antetokounmpo. "Their fearless leader Fecta Kepla told me that they are the best team and everyone wants to play for them. They have won every championship in every year. I am very excited to leave Greece and make many American dollars."
