Rumors are circulating that the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns had agreed to a trade that would send four-time all-star Stephon Templeton to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for a variety of assets, but the Kings and their notoriously slimy President of Basketball Operations, Killy Bing, got cold feet at the eleventh hour.
The Kings have been active on the trade market all summer in the sense that they've been actively shopping two of their marquee players in Jalen Brunson and Templeton, but their asking price for either has had most general managers shy away.
"Laugh my (butt) off if you think I'm going to get ripped off for any of my players," said Bing in response to the rumors. "Brunson is the best point guard in the league, no doubt about it. Literally."
"He makes R.J. Cole look like he's only worth like six lottos, laugh my (butt) off," said Bing with a straight face.
One anonymous Eastern Conference general manager stated that he'll never engage in trade talks with the Kings again so long as Killy Bing has any say in the negotiations.
"I swear to god, you think you have something worked out with him, and then the next thing you know he's demanding an additional three first-round draft picks," said the GM, who admitted that he has traded with Bing in the past but the experience was like pulling teeth. "You make an offer, he counters, you deny. Negotiations end, then he comes back and demands you accept the offer you previously rejected. I'm not sure he gets how this is all supposed to work."
The Suns are reportedly interested in providing Hakeem Olajuwon with some help up front and capitalizing on what appear to be the final productive years of Butch McRae's storied career.
"I should've listened to what everyone said," lamented Suns GM Anne D. Luck. "I put my eggs into this basket and now I've spent the past months holding on to tradable assets that I could've used to improve this team otherwise. I'm not sure these negotiations are going to go anywhere."
"Scumbag is an understatement," continued Luck. "That guy is a piece of ****."
