It was just brought to my attention that the maximum length for a minimum contract is 1 year. How would the league feel about treating minimum deals like say LLEs and being able to extend them?

min contracts are based on experience, it'll be way more hassle for you to extend

I am good with treating them like an LLE in terms of cost (5K tim pennies)
Being able to extend a min guy that blows up unexpectedly would be a huge advantage. Thus I think we should cap the years and increase the contract amounts
Maybe 2 year max extensions? And maybe make the 2nd year always $1,200,000 (to match LLE) and the 3rd year $4,500,000 (to match MLE)? or something like that. For long time vets the 2nd year would have to be at least 1 mil right?

I would prefer we just keep it at 1 year minimums only instead of creating another convoluted rule.

If we did that I also think that team should lose the ability to sign an LLE or MLE in the corresponding years.Not totally against this but tracking would be a mess, I would suggest staying away from that personally |

I love minimums as they are. Minimum years (one), minimum dollars, minimum exploitability for the team.
