In perhaps the closest race we've ever seen, Utah Jazz general manager Ankly O'Saur was voted Executive of the Year by his peers.
Ankly finished the contest with six first-place votes, with Bulls general manager Tim Pig coming in a close second with five.
Milwaukee Bucks general manager Trofie Holz was the only other executive to receive votes on the official ballot (he received three), which also provided official slots to Clippers GM Inur Fason and Globetrotters GM Wee Dee.
"One might argue that Tim exceeded expectations while Ank simply met them," argued one Western Conference general manager, "but I don't think he should be penalized for building the best team in the league."
That sentiment was not shared across TMBSL, as one Eastern Conference GM stated that the choice was "Clearly Tim Pig in my opinion, if he is able to resign Halpert and he continues to beast."
Pig and the Bulls did indeed bring Halpert back this offseason, in addition to adding four first-round picks to a team that made a cinderella run to the Eastern Conference Finals and was one win away from representing the East in the Finals.
As per usual, the Jazz GM was unwilling to engage in any discussion after receiving the prestigious award. Sources indicate that he personally did not feel deserving of the award after riding the coattails of playoff MVP Gary Bossert, another general manager's Creation Draft pick, to the title.
Ankly, who owns a summer home in Chicago and has always been known to be a Bulls fan, is rumored to have given his vote to Tim Pig.
