So there's a lot of funny business this year. There were six players with 14+ Win Shares of whom four made First Team, so that's a solid start. They're also well distributed by position: one point guard, three wings, two bigs.
Firsto should have been ahead of Ayton but it's close and either way a 14er was getting bumped. Less clear is what happened to Gary "Who's The" Bossert - one would think the best player on a #1 seed would get a little more love than being shut out. Also not sure what the voters see in Zion, anyone can fill it up on a lotto team. Huh. Huh!
Brain is the deserved MVP, but the Knicks snubs continue as #3 Quincy McCall gets bumped by a turnover machine and a guy not even worth a max deal. Along with this year's All Star MVP Brain is now neck and neck with Collin Sexton for most decorated player to not win a title: [2 MVPs, 1 AMVP, 2 All-NBA 1st, 5 POTM] vs [1 MVP, 1 AMVP, 1 ROY, 2 All-NBA 1st, 2 POTM]. Who's gonna be the first to grab that brass ring?
