So it seems like I'm taking over this locomotive. In doing so there are a few ideas I'd like to toss out for us to talk about, and let you know how I intend to do things sim wise.
Initially obviously there is going to be a learning curve for me, so please be patient and give me a few days to set everything up on my computer at home. Once I'm up and running I'd like to stick to a pretty strict schedule:
12- 10 day sims done mostly in the evening, likely after 9 p.m. est A set date/time for trade deadline posted at the beginning of every season A draft clock that runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with picks being skipped. This should encourage sending of lists. FA schedule set once we're nearing the end of the draft with hard deadlines, if you don't get bids in on time, not my fault.
We will need a new DM, inquire within.
I think it'd be interesting to bring back declarations, thoughts/opinions appreciated.
If anyone has any ideas about new dump buck rewards or additional ways of sharing draft information then I am all ears, or really anything you think could improve the league.

also re: dump buck rewards, i was planning on measuring box score rewards after 2004 (i.e. five full seasons) to suggest recalibrations for them to 5.0. if you want i can just do it now though

Not a fan of declarations but i haven't been in a league with them so I can't say for sure how it would go.

All sounds good, i would be a shit DM, so I'm pro team Delap as DM. I'd be willing to help out in other ways.
I'm a fan of declarations, classes imo should not be 100% known until closer to the actual draft date.

I like the "no grade" profiles. I highly suggest you keep that.
I'd love to see some consistency to shown potential. I don't think you need to live by it, but say 80 percent of the prospects have actual potential within the shown potential band. 20 percent are busts/sleepers.
I'll have more input, I'm sure.

Just give some pros, cons, and let you build the players without worrying about the grade set you spit out. That's way more fun than having to tinker with attributes to get the player you want and the grades you were given.

Big fan of pretty much everything in the OP.
I’d like to learn more about the declarations, unless it’s as simple as RNG’ing “underclassmen”

I’d like to learn more about the declarations, unless it’s as simple as RNG’ing “underclassmen” It was used previously as a way to even out draft classes, but for our league I just think it'd be fun to have some guys mixed in with different classes. If 👨🏼⚕️delapandemic🚑 plans on posting profiles so far in advance we could even have guys "leave early" and join the class before

I like that idea then.
One other request - for compuGM teams, can we just establish a rule for their draft picks? Highest remaining IRL pick left or something?

I'm kinda toying with doing what heebs did and negotiating trades, doing upgrades etc. for them. Giving each compu team an allotment of dump bucks every season or something as well so we don't have some players just kinda wasting away.

Highest remaining IRL pick left or something? i would prefer a formula using shown grades, since real life and sim life are so different and we avoid an Anthony Bennett situation we have the big board, draft diagnosis, compugm.xlsm, commish can just select one of those as the rule, or synthesize another.

Suggestion: Bring back regular lotto Disagree. I have a compromise: Unweighted lotto for top 5 picks only.

outside of re-working the lotto theres not too much I would argue to change
the ideas that Druce posted i really like
also would prefer we try to keep G-Leauge, but I understand if its too much at first

Giving each compu team an allotment of dump bucks every season or something as well so we don't have some players just kinda wasting away. I'd recommend that. Since we have the dump buck spreadsheet, they will have bucks. I'd also give someone a job (I'd volunteer for the right pay, which I guess is not volunteering as much as putting my name in the ring) of adding up the non-box score rewards for the CompuTeams. With 10k for missing the playoffs and all that, they'll have plenty of bucks to upgrade players. I would NOT suggest giving GMs a second team. As for drafting, pick the positions of need, see who the software suggests as an auto-pick for that position, and use that. It will almost always pick a top 2-3 player you would have picked for the team (in my relatively brief experience).

Still wanna?

Or some of the younger guys opting to stay an extra year. IMO this should just be at commissioner's discretion.
