upgrades cost 500 rather than 1000. players can be upgraded beyond the +25 for 1500 per point. this would also come with the removal of the 30 points per team limit each season. caps on these upgrades would be as follows: - 5 blocks
- 50 inside for PG/CG/SG
- 70 everything else
- 3s for PFs would not be doubled
My intention here is to give GMs more control over player progression. This change combined with lower starting potential (i'm already doing this tbh) should accomplish that. Discuss

I don't think I like going past +25 for anyone, but I'm fine with making upgrades in general cheaper.

speaking as someone with tons o' bucks i don't like the idea of being able to improve a player indefinitely
we already went from 16 to 25 for a single attribute, i think that's a good place to stop for awhile. being able to just decide who's a good and bad player doesn't seem fun to me

hate almost everything about this.
cap lowered to 70 means it'll create a bunch of mediocre players, no limit means dudes with large banks will just have a team full of cookie cutter 70 everything guys, that's having LESS customization, not more.

not a fan of that either, makes less active GMs feel like they can never keep up with the article writers of the league.

i'd be more interested in just "less" imo the main issues come from someone with a sexton (ian) or an article writing pariah (timpig) can run their players out much farther than 50% of the gms in the league. Of course, we want to preserve this somewhat but imo the fix is to lower the amount players can be upgraded.
it was a big "thing" in 4.0, teams who didn't spend dump bucks were "where prospects went to die"
players shouldn't NEED the skill upgrades to not be trash
as is current theyre being made so shitty that we need upgrades
if we just capped the upgrades a lot lower (not on individual ratings but on the player themself overall +30 too much) then i think this would alleviate itself... somewhat

I honestly think it's good, just need to get about 10 classes deep to fill out the league

If i only had to make 15k dump bucks a season, I could feel like my team would actually have a chance and it'd lead to more participation from said person Note i've now focused on two different things: Lowering the amount a single player can be upgraded lowering max amount of dump bucks someone can spend each year i think the 2nd if the most important for league activity

as is current theyre being made so shitty that we need upgrades This is not true.this is a kick you've been on for awhile, and is also not true. the difference between 0 and 30k bucks spent is at most 4 wins. i'm going to get way more than that from Whitey Von Nieda, whom i acquired for 3k dump bucks and an expiring. the balance we're at now is that spending bucks helps (so activity is encouraged) but max spending is not overpowering (so people have no reason to feel hopeless). as proof, the Clippers have only used +65 so far and they won a title. i've spent 87k on upgrades and i lost in the playoffs to the hawks who spent 74k and the magic who spent 58k.

Yeah that's true because we're still in the creation draft era. Once our rosters are full of drafted players teams that don't spend the max dump bucks rewards will consistently be below teams that spend. The effect is obviously lessened now because most of our players were starting haven't been upgraded because they are old / we've only been through 3 seasons For me it's psychological as well. If I can't get the 30k then why bother at all? The goal is too far to try. If it was closer more people would try. Just mo Sent from my SM-N920G using Tapatalk

Huge fan of the current upgrade system and don’t feel like it needs to be changed.
People now get free dump bucks for their box scores and free bucks for being outside the playoffs. You also get upgrades for posting and dropping in the lotto.
If a GM posts 150 times and is out of the playoffs that’s already 16 of their 30 points for the season.
Hard no vote from me.
