No mislead from me on Halpert. He's 24, the top shot blocking wing in the league and a solid scorer that shot 48% the previous two seasons. If I had the cap I'd max him.
These are the wings in the league I think are definitively better than him.

1. you can definitely extend gleague players
2. gleague fa is for my benefit, but i can definitely time it better
3. fectas gleague "summit" idea is legitimately more time and effort than running and entirely different league
4. i'm not against changing gleague sim format

in terms of improving my team... looks like the best bet might be to sit still and re-sign brunson and halpert and then move them when they have a longer deal then go ham in FA next offseason

Trading potential lotto picks: I just feel like we're all playing off the creation draft still. If you hit big, you're trading picks and making moves. If you missed, or didn't hit well enough, or you drafted older fellas that have started to decline, you're moving those picks for building talent and hopes of a good playoff run.
Tanking: Fecta, it's not an art IMO, make your team as bad as possible while acquiring the best picks available and getting any young potential future talent. Seems easy enough. It was more fun in 4.0 because it was easier, and when guaranteed top 6 pick from finishing worse it's def easier, but I am not a fan of a Sexton situation. How many players came into the NBA to run shit for a decade? Like 10 over 70 or so years? Hakeem should be rare. I feel like there are more busts or let downs than guaranteed stars at #1.
Stagnant Trade market: Is there one, maybe a little but I think it will improve as more talent fills the league. The uncertainty of the picks allows for a GMs philosophy of drafting to work more. The new lottery clearly shows that if you're a borderline playoff team, you can easily strike gold in a good draft year compared to 4.0 so holding on to your borderline talent makes sense. Guys that won't make or break your team, but may put you over the top in the long haul. I love that compared to teams just tanking to get better.
G League: I love it, going to get into it this year. G League 4 team Summit, how would you determine DCs?
