- For starters, this class doesn't look as hopeless as last year's after the initial TC, going a cumulative +34 as opposed to last year's +20
- Terrell Brandon is the star of the rookie TC, going +5, including +3 in handling which should keep him PG eligible for his entire career
- Rick Fox was second best at +3
1. Hawks (from Kings) - Larry Johnson* PF 6'6'' 255 22
B C+ C C+ B D
B C+ C- B- B+ B
-1 handling, +1 defense, +1 rebounding

Solid TC for the number one overall pick, increasing his D/R grades and taking a hit in handling, which shouldn't matter too much for him. Would've liked to see some growth out of the scoring grades.
2. Hawks - Rick Fox SF 6'7'' 230 21

Ulrich's solid profile and initial grades helped people forget about his pretty unimpressive NBA career stats-wise and his first TC should only reduce peoples' memory further. A solid +3 ranks him second best among first-rounders, including the ever so desirable +1 inside. He's shooting guard eligible, which may be his best position considering the low rebounding grade if he were to stay at small forward.
3. Nuggets - Zan Tabak C 7'0'' 245 21
B C- C- B B- C
B C C B B- C
+1 outside, +1 handling
+2 overall
A bit of a surprise pick by Mike at 3, Tabak won some awards during the combine which drew Mike's attention. As someone who knows almost nothing about the internal workings of the software, my calculations indicate growth in the outside grade is usually indicative of 3-point growth since jumper doesn't really grow naturally. He's got a good jumper already if pre-preseason is any indication, so maybe we have our next +50 3-pointers candidate.
4. Sonics - Steve Smith SG 6'7'' 200 22

Duc seems pretty set on the wings with Dale Ellis and Larry Hughes, so I thought he might go for Bison Dele here but he instead adds some depth with a guy who had nice grades but overall a pretty vanilla first TC.
5. Kings (from Wizards - Bison Dele PF 6'10'' 230 21
B- C D+ C+ B- B

Growth in two big categories in his initial TC, Dele could've gone as high as two or three but fell all the way to five. Nice, if not Fecta-level obvious pick by BK.
6. Wizards (from Kings) - Dikembe Mutombo C 7'2'' 250 25

Dikembe's never going to score, so I'd have liked to see that +1 outside applied just about anywhere else. Poor HT - guy can't catch a break.
7. Pistons - Terrell Brandon PG 6'0'' 170 21
B- B- C+ D+ C B
B- B B+ C- C B

Biggest rookie TC we've seen in a couple years, Brandon now has some really nice grades with defense being the only big question mark. The +3 handling should keep him PG-eligible for his entire career, but TOs were scary in pre-preseason.

Two pretty boring TCs for the Cavs pair of first-rounders. Brooks looks like he has more potential based off of the initial grades than Brown due to Brown's pretty subpar scoring grades. Both look like they'll need some major luck in future TCs to be real contributors.
