Coming out of tiny NAIA Guilford, Free is an under-sized spark plug of an offensive player. He is an electric leaper, incredible shooter, and a go-go-go fast guard. His shot has an incredibly high arc, which he uses to ensure he isn't blocked by taller guards. He isn't clean enough with the ball to play point guard... but that's OK by Free, because he doesn't ever want to pass anyway. He wants the ball in his hands and he believes he can get to his shot against anyone 1 on 1. His deficiencies on the glass and on defense are to be expected, given his very small size. That said, his defensive effort is good and he stays with his man to the best of his ability and doesn't give up on the play.
