A score-first point guard, Gus Williams out of Southern Cal is a hard-nosed driver of the basketball who often seeks out contact and likes to finish around the basket. His jumper is a bit awkward, so he prefers the inside game, where he has shown a real knack for finishing from all angles with banks, spins, and floaters. If he could improve his FT% slightly, he could score a ton... as he gets to the line often, but doesn't shoot particularly well there, posting a career 70% mark thus far. A real risk-taker on defense... he racks up a ton of steals, but often leaves his man to do so, allowing for easy looks on back-cuts or 5-on-4 advantages for the offense when he takes himself out of the play. A terrible rebounder, even for a point guard. Williams has some really bright upside with his scoring, but the rest of the game is a real mess.
