David Thompson SG 6'4" 205 22 NC State
2 years before Luke on Tatooine, there was only one "Skywalker" and it was David Thompson out in Raleigh. An instant spark to any offense at the next level (and immediate front-runner for the Slam Dunk crown ahead of the aging Julius Erving), Thompson can flat out get buckets. Averaging nearly 27ppg in his college career, Thompson scores efficiently and in volume. His FT% is indicative of a long career of knocking them down from the charity stripe. He might even be able to grow a bit and shoot from the 3pt line at the next level, but it won't be the most important tool in his arsenal. More than anything, he will use his leaping talent to try to score over anyone in his way. On the defensive side of the ball, he is a bit erratic and gets lost from his man, but still manages to block a shot a game from the SG position, which is impressive. He is a bit of a black hole and doesn't excel at keeping teammates in the flow of the offense, so teams should realize that if they are picking Thompson, they are picking him to be the focal point. He and his teammates ended the UCLA dynasty, so he knows how to win and perform under pressure.
