A running, jumping, dunking athletic type who has a lot of raw skill, McDyess is leaving Alabama after 2 good, but not stellar, seasons. He checks all of the measurables boxes, as he is very strong for his size, jumps out of the gym, and really hustles all over the court. Like many such bigs, he carries the classic faults of poor handling and poor shooting. His form isn't *terrible*, but definitely needs a lot of love if he is going to be consistent. He's never attempted a 3pt shot in an official game... so I wouldn't expect him to start doing so now. His long-term outcome will likely depend on a patient GM and a creative use of his skills in the lineup.
