I dont know if the no vote on day 1 thing is the best move. Just seems like it opens it up for the Mafia to take one of us out. although we could get some night time information to help They can do that anyway...we’re just taking a 72% chance we give them a head start

If we also take someone out a townie (higher probability we do this than get lucky and hit a mafia member), we're down two townies after one day.

But seriously, is the logic just that the odds are so much higher we kill a town member? Yes and the town is at the disadvantage that they can’t coordinate efforts The only positive to pushing a vote is to try and sniff out mafioso coordination but even doing that could lead us down the wrong path and set us back further with a super unlucky night 1 outcome

I guess to me, I just dont know how much extra information we will learn as the town between Day 1 and 2 voting where it makes a huge difference.

The math part is priority one. There's also an outside chance we hit the sheriff/mayor and then we're totally f'd in the a.

So if we just all go No Vote right away it seems like we are completely shutting down conversation and it makes the first day easier on Mafia.
They can lay low, go No Vote with everyone and then take one of us out without much effort.
I am open to going No vote, just think we should talk more before deciding.

@bkisok do we have one of each special role and everyone else is a civilian or mafioso?
Or is that purposefully not shared

I don't see us getting much out of day 1 anyway. The only info we're going to get is from a sheriff who keeps his investigation secret and hopefully lives long enough to tell about it, and the hit the mafia does.

No Vote
Seems to be the best strategy

I thought the general thought was that killing no one on Day 1 only helps the Mafia?

So we don't necessarily have any sheriffs or we could have 3 of them?

3/11 (27% chance) to hit mafia on the first day, same odds to hit one of our town specials.
Given the rules (including bulletproof vests, a healer, and investigative roles) I think would lean toward No Vote on Day 1.

There's no guarantee that the odds are the same to hit a town special.

after reading a few refreshers/strategies... seems like we should kill on Day 1. I'm for it now... but not sure who. Inactive guys help the least, right?

jfc, I go to lunch, miss the start of this game and I'm already 4 pages behind.
I have forgotten mostly how to play, reading the rules/thread is bringing some of it back. I guess not killing anyone is the way to go?
