It is known that this game has always been, and will always be, about buckets. For those who do not yet know, here's a graph of the running average of the on/offs of all NBA players to play at least 500 minutes this season starting with the top thirty points per game. Okay, so in general scoring is good. (These insights are why I get paid the big bucks, folks.) But we also know about the phenomenon of empty stats. Can we see that illustrated, perhaps by looking at all players to currently average 25 PPG? ppg o/o name 25 15 LeBron James 27 14 Kawhi Leonard 30 12 Damian Lillard 26 9 Devin Booker 30 9 Giannis Antetokounmpo 30 7 Trae Young 35 5 James Harden 26 5 Karl-Anthony Towns 29 3 Luka Doncic 27 1 Russell Westbrook 27 0 Kyrie Irving 25 -1 Brandon Ingram 26 -3 Anthony Davis 25 -3 Zach LaVine 29 -4 Bradley Beal LeBron James, pretty good player. Pretty solid. Kawhi Leonard, superhero. Damian Lillard, sure why not. But how about that bottom? Bradley "No Bleals" and Zach LaVine are known poor defenders, what if... ...what if... ...Anthony Davis is a bad defender too?
