Brogdon's 6'10" wingspan allows him to play much larger than he is, leading to more pressure defense, steals, and above-average rebounding for his position. Defensively, he has the accolades, as the two-time ACC DPOTY and the reigning NABC National DPOTY. He has been described as the "staunchest" guard in all of the country on the defensive end. He shows creativity when making plays for his teammates, usually makes the right reads when coming off of screens, and is comfortable facilitating/passing off the pick and roll. He isn't overly explosive, never demonstrating great burst or leaping ability. He passes well, but his handle isn't elite, and he lacks the shiftiness to blow past defenders on a regular basis. The challenge for Brogdon moving forward will be carving out a niche offensively in TMBSL. He plays an efficient, low-mistake brand of basketball, but his lack of explosiveness and concerns about his shooting mechanics give scouts pause. Despite that, his effort, unselfishness, and ability to execute give him intriguing roleplayer potential and could serve him well if he can prove himself as a cog against quality competition.
