ROOKIE DRAFT

The draft class is up.

Draft picks can be made starting now.
Draft picks can be traded in any way until the trade deadline.
Between the trade deadline and the end of the playoffs, any trade involving a pick in this draft and a player is illegal and will be voided.

Every GM who sends a list will get 2000 pig pennies per first round pick made from it and 1000 per second round.
Every GM who does not send a list will be fined 2000 pig pennies per first round timer expired and 1000 per second round.
The rookie draft timer starts 10 AM Eastern September 24th, and the timer in the first round is one hour.

Anyone who sends a list can opt into a third round pick.
After the second round, I will take the top remaining player for each optee in the same order as the second round.

Draft scouting is being modified.

tier 1 - 05k - gm receives the attribute total of the player
tier 2 - 14k - gm receives the attribute breakdown of a given grade (Inside, Outside, etc.) in letter form (A = 81-100, B = 61-80, etc.)
tier 3 - 23k - gm receives all attributes in letter form
tier 4 - 45k - gm receives all attributes exactly

stats - 30k - gm receives the aggregate per-36 stats from the three-season test sim i run (only profile players can use this tier)

All scouting must be performed before the draft timer starts.

GMs who purchase a tier of scouting can purchase the next tier of scouting on the same player for only the difference in price. Example: a GM purchases tier 2 on Kevin Durant for 14k. It only costs them 9k to purchase tier 3. Stats scouting is not applicable.

How will rewards work for this now that the draft is happening during the season?

I planned to put together a list but then I was up in the draft before I even had really looked or considered. Don’t feel like I should now be excluded from rewards.

for this draft we are using the same rules as before

So I guess my question still stands. 

The rules always stated that we had to have list in by the start time of the draft (10am day after Playoffs)

Since the draft is now essentially over before its technical start time, and thus picks were made without list due to the quickness, do we still get the rewards?

Just seems like a bit of a grey area with this draft since its over before it technically started. With that beign said I have sent a list for my 3rd rounder to be picked from once it comes around.

I just think it would suck, and defeat the purpose, of losing out on draft rewards because the draft is happening during the middle of the previous season.

I have no problem with the format. just nailing down the logistics of how things like this would work.

For me personally its a small amount I could earn, but getting clarity for future drafts will be nice.

maybe I am misunderstanding the rule but I thought it went into affect once the draft started. Technically the draft never started and honestly made it to me far quicker than I ever expected, not having time to get a list together. 

I could see a scenario where the offseason post is made, the draft is "started" and it makes it to someone before they even have a chance to weigh options.

I am with Odin that if we are able to finish the draft before the prior season is even over just give rewards.

I also think this will go a lot smoother next season since not everyone (me included) even knew the draft was happening after Sim 9. I think next year it will be fine as we will be prepared and it wouldn't matter if the draft had to wait a bit for you to make a list since it won't "start" while you're making it
